Compass Pointe Golf Club - North/East Course

Played at Compass Pointe Golf Courses yesterday and overall had a really enjoyable round. The greens were in very good shape — smooth, well-maintained, and rolled consistently throughout the day. You can tell the grounds crew puts a lot of attention into keeping the putting surfaces in solid condition.

The fairways, however, had some noticeable discoloration and patchy areas in spots that took away a bit from the overall course presentation. It wasn’t unplayable by any means, but definitely something that stood out compared to the condition of the greens.

Layout and pace of play were solid, and the staff was friendly. One thing worth mentioning is the beer “special” — 6 beers for $23 really isn’t much of a deal considering they’re about $4 each individually. Not a huge issue, but probably not something I’d advertise as a special.

Overall, I’d still give the course an 8/10. Fun track, great greens, and definitely worth playing if you’re in the area.

Very enjoyable round of golf at a really nice golf track. Compass Pointe has several configurations, we played Southwest. Course has good length and some challenging holes.

Challenging course and conditions were good for early April. Sand traps were nice and soft. Greens were recently aerated but in good shape. Tees and fairways were in good condition. Overall will definitely play again.

Compass Pointe is arguably the value you’ll find this area of Maryland. I played yesterday after a few days of rain. The first time I’ve played this course in this condition. I was surprised to find out how well it drains. The bunkers were slushy and muddy, we all played bad enough to go in the bunker lol. We were all astonished by how well the bunkers felt.

Compass Pointe is one of my favorite courses to play. I played the South West this time and loved it even in subpar conditions.

Fun layout and good conditions for November. Nice greens.
