Walden Golf Club

Showed up and was met with a lukewarm man in the pro shop. No biggie, I was there to play golf! Started playing and it was apparent they had recently punched their greens and they were rolling about a 7. Few quirky holes later, and big brown patches started showing up on the greens. Then I noticed there were no rakes for the bunkers— are they waste areas? Finally got lost out there a couple times from a lack of signs. Honestly, it’s a tight, poorly maintained and wield layout. If you want to hit driver expect to lose golf balls. I paid about $30 on a “hot deal” and think it was worth $10-15. I cannot believe they’re getting close to $50 for regular rates!! Maybe I played on the wrong day but I won’t be going back.

Walden used to be a top course in the area, it has degraded over the years. The good points, club house food, drinks, and staff were great, pro shop, starters, and maintenance crew were great as well. Okay, the bad, fairways were clean of debris, but grass was sketchy and poor lies plentiful (does not seem like players of this course care about fixing damage). The narrowness of the course means fairly close misses can put you in a person's backyard or worse hit their home. The ratios of distance to width are completely off. Now the worst. Greens were a mixture of weeds, sand, non-healed punches (after a month), and whatever grass was brave enough to attempt growth. Absolute garbage in every way imaginable. It is easier judging a putt and getting less bounce in backyard 4 inch fescue. I would like to give the greens a -100 score. The nice people in the club house said the greens were good this year????? Sorry, but absolute FAIL.

Course was difficult layout which isn’t a bad thing but conditions were poor. Very fast, not much grass on many fairways. Some holes hard to tell where the fairway was because of conditions. Tee boxes were in good condition. Green were extremely fast and edges were sand or dirt. Bunkers were very hard. Wasn’t expensive for afternoon tee time on weekend but was expecting better.

They have taken out some of the hazards which made the course way more player friendly.

Like the course 3 out of 5 food was great staff very nice bartender 🔥

When all the other courses around are $90 and this one is $60 you should know what you are going to get.

I don’t like the first 4-5 holes but it’s a pretty good layout after that. But the greens are all wrecked.

Staff is super nice though, I’ll play it again, it’s not that bad just go in with low expectations and know the back nine is much better than the front.

hole 1 has divots in it like some a$% hat was hitting a 7iron back at the barn..and hole 13 was a little rough with the growth but all in all manageable..other than that course was in good shape..whis the bartender was there in the morning or at least a beverage once in a while would be great! need my swing lube!!

We had a really nice round! It was very enjoyable and challenging! Thank you for theirs friendly and helpful staff!

This was my second time playing this course. There had been a good bit of rain during the week and a few of the greenside bunkers were still flooded. The tee boxes were fairly beaten up with a lot of bald spots and weeds. Some of the greens had a rough summer, with large patches dried out and soil showing. Only 2 of the greens allowed smooth rolling putts... very bumpy. The course layout is great for working on iron shots. Less so for driver and putter.

One complaint: I booked a 1pm tee time for the evening rate, but the pro shop would not let me pay that rate if I checked in before 1pm. If I pay at 1, I will be late to my 1pm tee time, so that logic didn't make sense to me.
