"Approach" shot on 13 from middle of "fairway". You have to hit through or around the power poles from 250 out Photo submitted by DrOldSchool on 11/21/2012
squeezed in golf between rain storms
I think they were taking the time to do maintenance on the course since there were several rain storms day before and that day. digging going on around several holes on the course.only couple of us die hards were playing. others didn't want to risk getting rained on.
Fair...
Overall, not a bad course a solid 3/5j Heard lots of great things but it all felt just average. Greens are really well maintained but does not really measure up to the other course available to you in and around Frederick. Not bad at all just did not meet expectations.
The best condition I’ve seen since ownership changed
nice and open
Great staff. Course was open and med length. Greens were small to med size. They were fast and undulating, difficult for first time. But fairways are ample. Conditions were excellent except for the wind, course is exposed on several holes. We really enjoyed it.
Overall best value
Overall very good value. Friendly staff, well managed course, and 1000% best priced
Soggy Memorial Sunday
Even with wet conditions, we still enjoyed this course. We like the course layout and distance screens in the carts. Although we had several discrepancies with our hand held range finders. Look forward to going back..
Saturday maple run 2 golfers
behind a family with a child. luckily they only played 9 holes.. didn't feel rushed on back 9. Holes still challenging as far as flags go. hole seems to be on an incline on most of the holes. putting is not my strong suit. lol
tuesday at maple run
Course is nice and green. greens are challenging. flags are on a slope on most of the holes. not alot of flat areas near the flag.
Needs Improvement, but nice course
First time playing this past weekend. The greens are 5 Star, evil and unforgiving if miss, my favorite type of green. After that the rest of the course is in just average shape. It’s a shame, so much time is clearly put into the greens and the rest of course seems to get ignored other than regular mowing. Pace of play was good. Carts are lacking, very jerky and unpredictable. We’ll be back because we enjoyed the quick play and layout was good for several in our group who are not great players. But for the price on Sunday there are better options just down the road in Westminster for less money.
Such a peaceful place
Love this golf course. Well maintained, clean, quiet.
Will visit more often.
first time playing maple run
didn't have a driving range, but overall a good course.
Hidden Gem
I’ve been playing here for almost two decades. Ouch….But, Maple Run has truly become a hidden gem. The fees are very reasonable, especially given the area, and the course is in great shape. Greens are true snd soft enough to be fun while still being challenging with slope and undulation. The staff is the friendliest in the tri state and pace is rarely an issue. There no range, but there are a couple warm up bays near the first tee to get loosened up as well as a chipping and putting green.
For amenities, they have a decently stocked shop with apparel, balls, accessories, bug spray etc and a great kitchen with cold drinks and cheap food.
Go. Take your friends. Take me. Take your mom. It’s great no matter what
