Horrible pace of play
I teed t off at 12 had to give up playing by hole 8. When I got to the tee box, there was a group on the tee box waiting to hit, a group in the fairway waiting to hit and a group just getting to the green. At this point, it was two hours and 10 minutes. It would’ve been about two hours and 45 minutes for pace of play. When I brought this to the clubhouse staff, I made it clear. I did not want a rain check or refund but to advise them of this and they stated they just could not afford a Ranger and a group in front wasn’t at that piece of play so we couldn’t have been. Even after explaining there were four groups on one hole and would’ve taken us another 30 minutes to have completed the hole.. staff was not friendly nor competent to resolve the issue. So do not play here unless you want a six hour round of golf.
The perfect local golf escape
This place is a little hidden gem in Middletown, MD. The course itself is in great condition, and the staff couldn't be friendlier. What really sets it apart, though, is how quiet and relaxed it is. Sure, it's pretty basic - don't expect any of those fancy amenities - but if you're looking for a peaceful round away from the crowds, this is the spot.
Sunday 9 holes
Course grass in excellent condition. Greens were clean and well tended. My twosome was joined by a third who turned out to be excellent company.
Sand bunkers were harder than expected but playable.
Nice challenging play.
Course review
The course is in great condition. The cart paths need serious work.
Went downhill...
I tried the course after a year or so not playing, due to moving. Was very disappointed with the overall conditions, specifically; fairway damage due to overuse of golf carts, cart path falling apart in multiple areas, and unsupervised adolescents walking on the course. Yes, encountered a group of teenage boys walking up the cart path on hole 9 blaring music and interrupting our ability to tee off. When I told them to move out of the way so they wouldn't get hit, one responded, "f#@% you!" Then later on the same hole another set of teenagers casually strolled out of the houses across the fairway right behind us as we were hitting. I spoke to the management in the club house but very disappointed in how the course has gone downhill.
Nice pleasant golfing experience, staff was very nice. Course layout interesting and fair, greens were undulating and never boring, speed was moderate to fast. Would recommend to everybody
Bumpy ride
Enjoyed the course very much except for the bumpy ride - the cart path needs repairs
Nice course
Nice course. Challenging layout. Greens rolled well and are consistent. Cart paths are terrible.
Richland - a much improved experience!
This course had a bad reputation for condition, and staff.
That has changed for the better.
We took a lesson from the Pro - Ed - and then played 18.
The course was in great shape despite the weeks.of opresive heat. The lesson very useful and netted good results that very day; Ed knows how to break down your flaws and build your swing back up quickly and in a way that is as uncomplicated as it is easy to remember.
The course itself is hilly but wide and forgiving - if you know Clustered Spires in Frederick think this as a more interesting and lush version.
Highly recommend for a nice enjoyable round.
Could be so much better
Course layout is nice but the greens did not roll true and no sand in bunkers.
