About
Nestled in the foothills of the Catoctin Mountains about 15 minutes from Fredricksburg, Glade Valley Golf Club has been selected as a top-100 golf course in the Mid-Atlantic region by Washington Golf Monthly. The Jim Reck design, which opened in 1990, has a nice mix of woods, water, natural habitat and sand traps that will test golfers, but the golf course isn't overly difficult.

Greens Like Velcro
The greens were shaggy and rolling at around 7. For a 7 foot putt, you had to hit the ball like it was a 20 foot putt.
Great improvements.
I've been watching the entire course being cleaned up from storms and ground crews working on improving the bunkers, fairways, and greens. The employees are remarkably helpful and respectful. The club house is always clean and has a great menu. GOD Bless to all.
SLOW, SLOW
We had two foursomes ahead of us that were taking 20-30 minutes per hole on the back nine. Yes they were elderly but come on. Couldn't someone nudge them along or let us play through?
Awesome course and staff. This is my local home course and has only got better since I started playing a few years back! It is very walker friendly as well!

Great course
Love the course layout and upkeep. Kids in front of us spent 25 minutes on a hole, terrible pacing. Building was closed after our nine holes, would have liked a drink.
Pace on a Wednesday morning
A five hour Round on a Wednesday morning is a little long. Admittedly, I play fast but I understand that a 4 hour and 15-20 min. round is expected. 5 hours on a weekday morning is too much.
Need a ranger to move play along
2nd time in a row pace of play was not good… when reported to clubhouse during play we were told to skip holes and try and go around slow groups. 2nd time we missed playing several holes. We ran out of daylight after a 4 1/2 + incomplete round.
Course not bad, everything else was
Sadly, was excited to play this course for the first time but was disappointed. Course is straight forward. No complaints there. But the round was over at 3pm and the snack bar which was fully outfitted with complete menu and drinks was closing down. They claimed nobody was using it so they decided to close. No accommodation was offered. So with that, I can't give a good review. The course wasn't good enough to draw me back to it.

What do you do all week
There was too much water in the fairways. The rough was very very high. Looks like it was a very rough week for the ground crew
