The Golfnow’s price was almost double what the course offered.

The course: with the exception of nearly every tee box the course was in excellent shape.

We eat at the restaurant of Friday evening which was two days before we played. Locals love this place and I definitely know why. Friendly staff and very good food. Portions are large and a great value for the money.

Every year I visit Whitmore lake area and always play this well maintained and challenging golf course. I highly recommend it. Very reasonably priced and great staff.

The pro‑shop staff was excellent. We arrived early and were supposed to be paired with a single. After waiting at the 1st tee for the group ahead of us—who were nowhere in sight—the starter called the clubhouse and cleared us to tee off early. From there, it was smooth sailing for the rest of the day. Thank you to the pro‑shop team!

Enjoyed this course. Well maintained and friendly staff. Rolling hills and very entertaining place. One of the more challenging courses I play every year. Tight fairways and challenging greens. The course makes you think and play. Some days you win...some days the course has your number. Will play here again.

Tight course that is fun to play if you stay in the fairways.

The course was challenging, I'm female and played from the White tee's. The greens still need some work, there appeared to be 2 different grass types on some of the greens? There was no ranger, that we saw. The 3 people ahead became slower and slower with each adult beverage so by the back 9 the two of us were waiting every hole and the 4 some behind us keeping racing up on us when we were trying to tee off. I guess they weren't paying attention to the 3 drinkers ahead of us ... ugh! WE really needed a ranger to keep the pace. Other than that, the bev cart girl was great and kept us happy. The bartender, Sarah, inside was very personable & quick. We'll be back for sure. Overall good course.

Ive said this for years and will continue to say it. There tee boxes are turtle backs. Its hard to find a flat spot too tee up, if they leveled out the tee boxes this course would be immaculate.

If you get a hot deal, play this course. The hot deals are representative of what the value of the course is. Anymore, and you overpaid. There is no wow factor here. It’s a solid course but I wouldn’t pay full price. You could play better courses for the full rate. My only knock on course conditions are the bunkers. They are terrible. However, I have played over 30 rounds this year already, and this is a problem almost everywhere. Pace of play was not good. However, it’s not a unique problem here. Every course needs trained rangers and we need to employee pace rules.

I have driven by Chemng multiple times and said I should play that course. I was tight for time but I got 9 holes in. The greens were challenging. Course is well maintained I cannot wait to play again.

Not a bomb and gouge course. Shot making is always at a premium. Greens can be tough if you get above the hole. Not a course to expect a low score consistently.

I have played this course a lot and this was my first time playing here this season, I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the conditions were! As usual, the guy in the pro shop (I don’t know his name) was just as nice as could be!! I had an 8:30 tee time along with another golf now user. There was a 20 minute frost delay and 2 foursomes scheduled before us, but he let us go off before the two foursomes. We finished our round in 3 hours, which was awesome. I consider this my “home” course since I live less than five minutes away, and feel it is a really good, well balanced course with both some tough holes and some birdie holes. I usually do really well on the front and the back gets me but this time I was five over on the front and even on the back, but that’s golf. The only thing I could say needs an improvement is some of the tee boxes are not flat. So it’s sometimes hard to get a flat lie when teeing off.

Weather conditions were not the best and course was wet, but played fast.

The starters and staff in the pro shop would be a reason to return. We found the pin placements on a number of holes to ruin the round - take a reasonably difficult hole to one where you eventually just pick up as the ball landing a couple inches from the hole means rolling 30ft away!
