Beautiful course but Pace of Play
Although we were a twosome and understand the etiquette of golf, there were two groups ahead of us that made the day one where we will not be back. The first nine was 2 hours and 15 minutes and we mentioned to the starter that things were slower than a normal Sunday round. He said he would monitor the situation. When we teed off on 10 and as we approached our tee shots and approach to the green we noticed that the two groups were now one group of seven playing a a sevensome scramble. We skipped to the 11th. It was oaky until we hit the 15th and again the pace of play was affected by a twosome. In the end, with those delays and us skipping a hole it was a 4 hours 20 minute round.
Worth the drive up the dirt roads
Extremely well conditioned links style course. Great layout with a good variety of holes without feeling like a target golf track. Out in the country - no highway noise, no homes on the course. Challenging undulating greens that were difficult to read but rolled well.
Staff was very friendly. No cart paths, only gravel, there was a lot of rain the night before but the course did not have restrictions (to my knowledge) with the cart GPS.
Very good course, just a bit short
Very good course, fairly easy to get tee times and will definitely play here again. The only problem is it is a bit short if you are a longer hitter
A hidden gem!
Great course, very goof conditions, It’s my favorite course in the area so I don’t mind the 45 minute drive to play. Speed of play is very good, 3:20 to play 18👍
Very nice
We really enjoyed our first time at this golf course. The course was well maintained. The only problem was we didn’t see a beverage cart until we got on the back 9. It was a very hot day, so it would have been nice to have some service on the front 9. Other than that we really enjoyed our time.
top notch staff
Played a practice round with my son prior to a junior tournament. Course was in good condition. It’s similar to other rural michigan courses that we’ve played - if you go into the tall grass, you won’t find your ball. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the money if you are in the area.
Great course
This course was well worth the one hour drive. Fairways were plush. The greens were fast and true. I would play this course every week if it was a little closer!
First time playing at Hunters Ridge. Overall, we enjoyed the course and will likely play here again sometime. Two groups ahead of us were slow in the pace of play. Would have been nice to have a beverage cart on the course. Also, clubhouse was out of hot dogs when we made the turn.
Always in fantastic shape/Staff is always great
I have reviewed this course in the past, but instead of ignoring the ad asking to leave another, I chose to leave another since this course and the staff have always been FIVE STAR for me. I happen to live nearby and this is by far my favorite course in the area. Just last week alone I played this track three times. I can always count on it to be in great shape and the staff is very courteous. My next move may possibly be a membership. I’m more than average golfer, I play at minimum three times a week to six times a week. I don’t feel less necessary to get into the course details or try to find something to pick up apart. It’s simple, I can always count on excellent course conditions no matter what time of the year from the earliest in March to the latest November..
Definitely recommend playing here!
This was my second time on this course. They do a really good job maintaining the greens, fairways, tees. It is on the shorter side, but is still challenging enough.
Only slight complaint was pace of play. There were some older guys a couple holes in front of us that played a bit slow. No disrespect, of course, one cart had a handicapped flag on it. That may have been a factor for the slow play. A ranger on the course could’ve evaluated the situation and handled it appropriately. Other than that, I would say get out there and give this course a try. Well worth it!
Excellent staff Fun course Tough greens
Jerry, Bill and Susan made my solo day out exceptionally wonderful! Best personal round ever! Those hilly greens tho?!
See you guys soon!
Great Course. Highly recommend
First time playing this course and it was great. Love the course layout and how secluded the course feels. Has a links vibe to it. Course conditions were excellent and staff was very friendly. Best course conditions I’ve seen this year. Highly recommend!
Hunters Ridge
One of the best in southeast Michigan and green fees are reasonable.
