Hawk Meadows at Dama Farms Golf Club

2nd time playing this track.

First impression... Typical country public golf coarse, park like setting, heavy play. Very lush and green. Mature. Staff is friendly.

Tee boxes. Generally level, weed free, good shape considering the amount of play. 4 sets of tees, blue and white tend to share same tee box. Gold and red share the same tee box for the most part. Could have been mowed a bit tighter

Fairways: a mix of straight away with a few dog legs. Lush and mature, not much of a length change between the fairway and the rough. The fairways could have been mowed a bit tighter to create a contrast between that and the rough. If you have an errant shot into the scrub and/or weeds beware of the poison ivy and the ticks. Didn't see any ticks but the ivy was abundant. For me even a ProV isn't worth the risk.

Traps: A fair amount of sand, for the most part they were taken care of weed free, the edges around the traps were "rustic" and natural. The sand itself varied from trap to trap. Some were packed some were fluffy. The patrons generally did the right thing and raked behind themselves, considering there were a couple of small outings the day we played the traps were in pretty good shape.

Greens: smaller in size but they rolled true and were fairly quick. The aforementioned outings didn't do the greens any favors. Did my due diligence to repair extra pitch marks that were left behind.

Pace of play... Slow, but it was a wonderful Sunday weather wise and didn't feel the need to try to rush the group in front of us. Then again there wasn't anywhere to go with multiple groups staking up on tee boxes. We lost the groups after nine holes and our pace was quick on the back nine.

Overall.... Worth the play.

My daughter and I wanted to golf a round together and this was the perfect place. We are both still bringing definitions and consistency to our game and this place was perfect to work on that part of our game. Staff were friendly and it felt a really nice hometown course atmosphere.

Really hot day but course in good shape greens in excellent shape. Bunkers need some softer sand. A really good time and a great place to work on your game.

Group of 6 on 1st tee. Visible from club house. Allowed to tee off. No rangers on course to help with pace of play.

The staff was very friendly and they provide buckets to out your beer and ice in. Pace of play was fantastic and course was in great condition especially for April!

The course is in good condition.... One hole being reconstructed ( much needed). Golfed on a Monday late morning and the pace was great. Still the best value in the area.

Decent course. greens were above average for sure but fairways are very tough to spot edges on several holes. Not many obstacles makes it fairly easy to play course. cart was terrible a sputter, hard thrust then super slow drive every take off and we swapped to a diff one both were same. This is out of the course hands but play is very very slow. we waited 10-15 minutes per hole, we just left with 7 paid for holes to go it was so bad. it was all around OK.

Overall the course was well maintained. The only irritation the greens were in good shape but long and made putting very slow I hope when we go next time the greens will be faster.

For the price it's a great course. Definitely will play several more times
