Great course. Long holes, good par 3s, greens are well maintained. Tee boxes could use some work.

Keep it in the shirt grass as the rough is on steroids

I live a mile from here but rarely play it lately. It I was surprised that it was in really good shape aside from a few tee boxes that really needed some work. What hasn’t changed in the 20 years I’ve been playing here is getting stuck behind a group of drunk and high young kids at 7am. They were late to the 1st tee which pushed back my time 10-15 minutes. Then they took FOREVER on greens and tee boxes. What should have been a 4hr round max, become 5:15.

Having grown up in Staten Island near this course, I played it more than a few times in my youth. In the past 50 years, although I have moved away and now retired I still had fond memories of La Tourette. It was with that in mind that I proposed to a friend to drive down from Northern New Jersey to play the course I remembered.

The day turned out wonderfully and my friend even expressed an interest in returning with some of our buddies.

The course was in good condition, well manicured with generous fairways to keep the pace of play moving. Greens were well groomed with good pace for a muni course. Sand traps were a bit stiff with a clay colored consistency and some tee boxes were a bit rough.

All in all, it was a nice trip down memory lane and I can highly recommend this course if you are in the area.

We knew it was hot & humid, but the amount of bugs throughout the course was ridiculous.

We played all year in Long Island & NJ courses, and nothing has been close to what is going on here.

Bugs spray was useless.

Once considered the Premier public course on Staten Island possibly New York City there was a few access to water on an extremely hot day tee boxes with sand and stone. And one of the greens and some cases were okay they were full of divisors . Course seems to be shorthanded.

Greens were just okay. Players need to fix their divots fairways where average tea boxes with terrible inaccurate water throughout the course especially on hot days. Call Girl passed on a regular basis staff with very noncommittal just doing their job management needs to step it up a bit.

Definitely the best public golf course on Staten Island, always kept well

Good condition by obviously dedicated superintendent. Pleasant receptionist and starter. Course is hilly ,tight well kept and fun .

The fact they have a range was my main reason I picked here. Nice open fairways. Greens were in good shape.

Should have tee times 12 minutes apart. 9 minutes make congestion, slow play and definitely ruins the round.

This course is not worth the price. Better options elsewhere. No resident discount either.

Had to play through in a thunderstorm after paying 70 for the course fee and 22 each for the cart. Definitely expensive for public courses in NY/NJ. Tee boxes were in disrepair/ had uneven lies.

Course quality was overall nice but no rain check policy and a "golf at your own risk" policy combo was frankly greedy. Waited out the storm but the quality of play was horrendous for the price. Course the only alternative was "go home" so we played on.

The court has been completely overhauled. The sand traps have been reduce in size and some illuminated. It plays like a different course now.

The greens at La Tourette are in very good shape. They rolled well, and were not slow, even though they weren't cut too short. The fairways have been narrowed in since I played there years ago. With ample rough, there was a premium for hitting the fairways. The only slight negative would be the condition of the tees. They need to be leveled off to offer better areas to hit from. Burgers and beer after the round were perfect.
