South Shore Golf Course

The course has three tee boxes that are under repair. To have traps on them and the other one has crab grass all over it too much money that you can’t play three tee boxes. Too many people scheduled to close together. They were young boys six with four carts the range just spoke to them nothing happened. The group of boys did not show up until the back nine and jumped in front of us. The Rangers answers all the young boys. Not at that top dollar I would never recommend this cost to anyone just go over the outer bridge and much nicer causes and cheaper.

How do you have 3/18 holes that are unplayable??? That’s 1/6 of the holes! And it’s not new either. At least 2 years!

Fairways and greens had nothing wrong with them. What would've made this a 10/10 round was the temp greens and the tee boxes. I will give the benefit of the doubt to the tee boxes, and it's just starting to get nice out, but having temp greens on the best par three and par five of the course was completely unacceptable. Those 2 holes have had temp greens since last summer. They didn't even try to make the temp greens puttable, and I just had to give myself a par to keep my score. Everything else was fair.

John (General Manager) was extremely accommodating and ensure that our outing was enjoyable. The pace of play was steady and would recommend South Shore to anyone looking for a great day of golf.

Course Needs to have fencing around property so that outsiders can't come in, along with cameras. Last 3 years temporary holes are Absolutely ridiculous. 3 star is the correct rating.

Take the two temporary greens out of the equation and youre playing a great golf course.

This is a pretty easy and open course. Just like every NYC course it’s slow on saturdays as usual. The greens were looking good.

Other than 3 holes with greens that you cannot putt on the course is in good shape.

I wish I would’ve known the conditions of the greens on the course all the greens where air rated already you could not put I would have booked another course if I knew this in advance. It would be great info if you made golfers aware of the course conditions before booking on line .

The greens are holes 11, 12, 14 are unputtable. and now hole 13 is beginning to start to look like fungus starting to creep in

White tee boxes have so much use basically no grass remaining. All other greens are in great shape except for recent aerations done last Tuesday

I would not recommend going here at the moment! At least for a couple months.

Everything is aerated ! Which is fine and it happens everywhere.

But no warning about it. Anywhere

Not even front desk tells you the conditions

At least 4-6 greens are in terrible condition

No clean putting surface

Holes -sand- or just dirt and rocks is what you are getting

Sand traps your lucky if it’s sand. Only a few only have pure sand

Rest are rocks and dirt

Course is in terrible condition right now.

They most definitely should not be charging full price per round

South Shore went from hands down the most beautiful Golf course in Staten Island. They had it perfect!!! Looking great 👍🏽

I’m not sure what is going on there with the greens keepers or MGMT

I am gravely disappointed to see the course in this condition. South Shore has a lot of potential but the current grounds crew needs to be fired. Never in my 13 years of golfing across 5 different countries and dozens of golf courses have a I played a course this badly maintained. the greens had no grass on them, mostly clumpy wet sand. The fairway was no better, it was either hard soil or unkempt grass. the tee boxes were beaches, full of sand and nothing else, whoever is running this course seriously needs to re-evaluate what they're doing. its a shame to see a course with so much potential be reduced to this. it barely qualifies as a golf course, especially at 52$ for a tee time.

At least 4 greens are shot .. sand and divots on green and they still charge full price
