New 2025 drivers from 11 of the leading golf club manufacturers and brands

Thinking of gaming a new driver in 2025? Here is what you need to know about the newest releases from the biggest brands.
2025-drivers-hero.jpg
Nearly every manufacturer of note in golf has unveiled a new driver for 2025.

I love my driver. It took some patience to really dial it in, but now I feel really confident when I step onto the tee box that I'm going to hit the ball far (for me) and straight.

It's no coincidence that my current gamer - a PING G425 LST with a KBS Tour graphite shaft in it - is the first driver I've been custom fitted for in years. I spent an hour with Todd Setsma, my local PING fitting rep - a 20-year employee of the company - at the range at my home golf course fine-tuning the club not just to give me the best numbers, but to also fit my preferred ball flight (medium-low) and shot shape (fade).

Custom-fitting is invaluable, and while the impulse to click "Buy Now" can be tough to overcome when you see something you really like and really want, the longest-term new golf club relationships tend to be forged in the fitting bay.

3 trends among new drivers in 2025

Maximum adaptability

Whether it's by offering several different variations of the core design, changeable weights or sophisticated loft and lie adjustments (in Cobra's case, a dizzying 33-way hosel) or a combination, OEMs have made sure golfer-tinkerers are well taken care of, with the ability to dial weighting and feel in to fit their needs. Add an ever-growing menu of shaft choices and the possibilities are functionally endless.

Is distance dead?

Talk of increases in C.O.R. and ball speed have given way to the quest for optimal aerodynamics as a way to help golfers grab every last inch of distance off the tee. The task for OEMs has become saving a gram here, a gram there in order to optimize the weighting and shape of a driver to help it slash through the air. The days of 10+ yard across-the-board jumps from one year's driver to the next are largely gone. Lately, the name of the game is improving more mishits from generation to generation.

Face facts

Another part of the driver receiving greater attention lately is the clubface itself. Subtle adjustments to materials and scoring lines are surfacing to help refine a club's alignment, feel and sound characteristics.

With that in mind, here are 10 of the biggest golf club manufacturers' new driver offerings for 2025:

Titleist GT Drivers

Titleist's new GT drivers and fairway woods first became available to players at the 2024 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village Golf Club, with the clubs debuting at retail late last summer. Titleist's new GT1, GT2, GT3 and GT4 drivers look to follow a similar pattern to their previous releases, with the GT1 catering to low-launch and low-spin players, GT2 being forgiveness-focused, GT3 representing a middle ground between playability, speed and low spin for better players and the GT4 being more compact, lower-spinning and catering to high swing speeds and spin profiles. Aerodynamics and new Speed Ring face technology sits at the center of the latest generation of Titleist drivers, which are enjoying considerable popularity on tour.

PING G440 Drivers and Fairway Woods

PING releases a full slate of new drivers every other year, so 2025 means the launch of its new G440 series. The G440 lineup comprises four models: the G440 MAX, G440 SFT, G440 LST and G440 HL. A redesigned Carbonfly Wrap crown saves weight and enables for a deeper center of gravity for more forgiveness, while the rest of the head has been tuned to mute the sound slightly relative to previous generations. Some clever adjustments to the hosel of the club have facilitated greater face flexion towards the heel, too. The face has been made slightly shallower and thinner.

Callaway Elyte Driver

The name of Callaway's new ELYTE drivers is a nod to late founder Ely Callaway. A newly-molded carbon crown is one of the notable changes in this driver, meant to "trim some fat out of the front of the driver," according to Callaway content producer Johnny Wunder. Another upgrade comes in the face of the new driver, where Wunder credits Callaway's use of artificial intelligence as part of the R&D process for finding some forgiveness gains.

TaylorMade Qi35 Drivers

Every year brings a new TaylorMade driver line like clockwork. The new Qi35 comes in three different models: the Qi35, Qi35 Max and Qi35 LS. Greater forgiveness is at the heart of the new line, driven by refinements to TaylorMade's carbon clubface and deepening of the head's center of gravity. The Max model - used by Nelly Korda on the LPGA Tour - maintains its impressive moment-of-inertia (MOI) rating of more than 10,000 for a high degree of forgiveness. It also comes in a lightweight version to accommodate lower swing speeds.

Cobra DS-ADAPT Drivers

Cobra's new DS-Adapt series of drivers expands on last year's DarkSpeed debut (DS stands for DarkSpeed) by adding a completely redesigned hosel into the mix, with 33 different possible settings. This step up in adjustability allows golfers to preserve their preferred lie angle while adjusting loft - something that was not possible with prior hosel designs. An updated H.O.T. clubface also seeks to increase ball speeds on off-center hits. The DS-Adapt runs four drivers deep: the Draw, the MAX-K (10,000+ MOI), the X and the LS.

Mizuno ST-MAX 230 Driver

Mizuno's latest offering, which can be bought for up to $200 less than some of its contemporaries, made my list of impressive products I saw at the 2024 PGA Merchandise Show. The ST-MAX adds to the ST-230 series that was introduced last year, using a new, larger CORTECH chamber that helps stabilize the clubhead. New drivers or fairway woods haven't been announced for 2025 for Mizuno.

PXG Black Ops driver

pxg-black-ops.jpg
PXG's new Black Ops drivers represent the Arizona-based company's new offering for 2024.

Introduced in 2024, PXG's Black Ops line of golf clubs includes two different models of driver. Black Ops features a proprietary titanium Advanced Material Face, along with a non-uniform bulge and roll face design that adjusts the geometry at different parts of the face in order to solve more efficiently for off-center contact, while additional carbon fiber in both the crown and sole of the driver provides for weight savings and center-of-gravity optimization. One new wrinkle in 2025 is the introduction of the Secret Weapon, PXG's answer to the rising mini-driver trend. Is it a driver? Is it a fairway wood? I'm still figuring that out and will report back.

Part of the same Dunlop Sports family as Cleveland and Srixon, XXIO golf clubs continue to be popular among folks with lower and moderate swing speeds, as their lightweight models help golfers of a certain age claw back valuable distance they may have lost over the years. For 2025, XXIO is debuting a new 13-series driver for ladies and a new ultra-light Prime driver as well as new ultra-high-end Prime Royal Edition drivers.

Tour Edge E and C Drivers

Tour Edge has something of a cult following thanks to both its longtime presence on the PGA Tour Champions and its value price points. Its new line of drivers maintain the recent approach of offering one forgiveness-forward model and one speed-oriented one. The E725 boasts Tour Edge's first-ever MOI rating of above 10,000, while the C725 is centered around a new Flight Tuning System in a 450cc head.
