Great course!
Great city course., fun layout. Only complaint would be no IPA’s but the mixed drinks were good so it made up for it.
beautiful day!
Great day for golf. First time I used Golf Now and it went very smooth, the reservation for the 2 of us was there when we got there, Did not shoot well, but that was not important, just being out there was great!
Fun course
Great course. Greens were the most fun. Fast and a lot of slope. Course was in good condition for a city track. A group in front of us was playing bestball and slooow. Would have been a 4hr round. The group had 1-2 holes open. Ranger did talk with them but didn’t help much.
Great time overall even with slow play.
Needs some work
Maybe what this course needs a few extra hands on deck. Nice enough course with doglegs on most holes. Overall condition was pretty good . Greens were fast but roll true. No starter on a Saturday. No rangers And a Lotta old guys standing around admiring their shots. Cart paths are beat up And they seem to have a water problem on the course. Was just a little bit of work it could be a really nice course. But until then play Benson.
Nice layout
Course conditions are great, greens run fast, true, and no straight putt from anywhere
The only down side was being partnered up with a person that wasn’t very enjoyable to play with.
slow but good
need a ranger to pick up the pace or a beverage cart to kill the downtime in between holes
Excellent course!!
I always love playing this course although I had not played it all year. It was in amazing shape and the greens were beautiful. I would highly recommend this course to anyone.
Great Public Course
The staff and crew were very professional and friendly. We were a twosome but the pace of play was very slow. It's a challenging course with huge greens.
Very well kept course and challenging
This was the first time I played all 18 holes and was very pleased with how well the course is kept and how beautiful it is all the way through.
Challenging Greens and Thick Rough...Good Test
Johnny Goodman (or Aplewood if you've lived in Omaha a long time) is a great muni course and a tough test of your game. It can stretch to over 7,000 yards, all par 3s are forced water carries (with two of them playing close to 200y), all four par 5s force you to hit great tee shots to reach in two, the rough is lush, and the greens have a reputation for being slick. With very few exceptions, the greens are contoured wonderfully. Hitting approaches on the correct levels is key in avoiding three-putts...and missing greens on the short sides can mean death. The fairways are generous for the most part, but wayward drives can find anything from deep rough and tree trouble to hazards and OB.
Hit fairways, leave the ball below the hole, and have fun. Great course that holds its own with a few of the private clubs in town.
Johnny Goodman
Great course. My favorite features are the elevation changes and smooth quick greens with lots of interesting pin locations. A must play in Omaha metro area.
