Always a great course.
This course is always in great shape from tee box to greens. Love the new layout on 17 now makes for a interesting shot.
Shotmaker's Course
Par 4's are shorter and ready to be had if you have your putter working. The par 5's are a decent length. The greens are consistent and depending on which side of the hole you are on can be quite frustrating, especially numbers 9 and 13. Pace of play was fair, it could have been better if the 3 generation foursome of grandpa, grandma, son, and granddaughter in front of us, had any golf etiquette at all we could have played in under 3-1/2 hours, as we had to wait before every shot. Player Assistance as they call their marshall was really nothing more than an elderly gentleman out for a leisurely ride in a golf cart.
Country Club conditions
Fairways and greens were fantastic. The tee boxes are better than most greens I've played lately at other courses. Greens were fast and very readable. Been playing Turkeyfoot since 1966....this is the finest I've ever seen it. Kudos to course superintendent and staff!!
Short course
Many short holes. Keep the driver in the bag unless it is a par five
Fun,,great place to play.
Course was in great shape, tees, fairways, and greens all in great shape. Did not play the "water 9, . Course has some long and short holes. interesting!!!. 400+ par 4s and 200+ par 4s.. I played first 9 in just over an hour. They had ladies tee off back nine, waited on every shot after playing 3 balls. Not the fault of course, but I wish there was a way for golf now had a place when you booking to let you know about special conditions for the day, such as cart paths only, ladies day, greens sanded, etc. this course is worth the money, really no complaints at all. A helpful tip, stay below hol, some side and downhill putts are crazy fast and break a ton.
Good overall course
Distances here may deceive you, as many of the holes may not be too long, but trees, sand, and other obstacles are well placed. I look forward to playing here again someday. My only complaint as someone who never played here before is that they did not really explain where to get started or where to get carts, etc, they kind of just sent us out there.
LOyd's reeview
Nice places to play golf. They need a better food area
Great playing conditions
The fairways, sand traps and greens were as good as it gets. Other public courses should come to Turkeyfoot to see how it is done.
Lake view
The course is designed around turkeyfoot lake with water on almost every hole. Nice open but challenging course
Extreme Heat but a Beautiful Course
This treasure in S. Akron has stood the test of time very well! The greens are, indeed, some of the best I've ever played. If it weren't for the 90+degree weather, I might have had the energy to do a bit better. Fairways were nearly perfect.
Slow play
The course is fine. The issue we had was I. A busy Friday afternoon they let a five some out in front of us. When I told the starter when we came by the club house I was told "I'd have to tell the guy inside"
Nice conditions
We played as an afternoon twosome and the course was pretty much open. We were greatly surprised and pleased to see how well the course drained after an extremely heavy rain overnight. A flood warning was in effect for this area but with the exception of some standing water in a few bunkers, the course was very dry. Greens were very nice and putted smoothly (minimal ball marks) and they displayed subtle breaks as the sun dried the course. Turkeyfoot is a nice mix of long and short holes and is very playable for all golfers.
Not worth it!
I was in town visiting a friend. He had never played Turkeyfoot so we decided to give it a shot via golf now. Well, it only saved us $3 and it would have even been more expensive, if I didn't get free booking fees.
The course was SO crowded and it took 3 hours to play the front 9. The holes are short, so there are some holes where you had to wait for the group ahed to get off the green on a par 4. Made for a VERY long day and it was hard to get in a rhythm. Maybe it would have been better if it wasn't so congested, but either way, I won't be back.
Best day of golf
I had a wonderful day and time, playing Turkey foot. Yes first time and open wham by, it greens , small but fair. It was worth the ride, when there , we're courses nearby.
The place to play if it rains a lot.
Turkeyfoot is a great course to play if there has been a lot of rain because it doesn't get muddy. Also the layout is fun to play, not exceptionally long but the greens are fast and punishing if you are above the hole.
This course has good features and some challenging greens
Played the other day at 10:30 A.M. There were 2 of us and played the first 4 holes with no problems. After that we were stuck behind 3 groups of 4 , which never allowed us to play through. It took almost 4.5 hours to play hurry up and wait golf. Overall the course is nice but You almost have to play as a foursome to go with the rate of play, easily jammed
Not Horrible
I know Akron has had a rough winter, and with that in mind the course was in pretty good shape. The greens we're like a pool table, extremely fast. Played the 18 hole, not the water 9. Nice, short course with some interesting par 5s. Got a great deal on GN. Is it worth the $40ish during peak times? In my opinion, no.
Great place to play
It's early in the season so conditions aren't going to be excellent but the course was already in pretty good shape. This is my favorite course in the Akron area for the value.
Beautiful course
Well maintained, some beautiful sights with the lakes all around. It has a major road running through the middle of the course but it really did not take away from the serenity of the play. There are a few blind shots but nothing too bad. It plays a little longer than the scorecard says. There is no driving range and the practice green is a little small. The pro shop leaves a little to be desired, but overall a very nice place for a round of golf. I'll be back.
Short but sweet
As usual this course was fantastic - a great time for all types of golfers.
