Golf Club at Yankee Trace - Heritage Course

For a public, city-owned course, the facilities are fantastic. However, the clubhouse is under construction and mostly unaccessable. Many of the fairways are still grooved from late fall aeration, resulting in bad lies, and the greens are in rough shape. The sandtraps are inconsistent and often wet. Having said all of that, I have played here for years and feel very confident by mid-April it will be back to its awesome shape. Right now though, don't expect mid-season conditions.

Front 9 was no problem. The turn was a mess. Three groups were starting their rounds as I was making the turn.

It took 4 holes for the pace to get back on track. Others on the tee claimed this happens "all the time". I note that the parking lot was only 20% of capacity. Was the third 9 holes open? If not why not?

The back 9 was very disappointing. I was told by the Pro Shop that they had 66,000 rounds of golf played last year. One of the groups waiting on the tee told me the same thing.

They seem to be marketing this fact to impress newbies of the popularity of the club.

I would be hesitant to return in good weather, if the windy and cold conditions was a slow as it was at the turn. There should be a balance between quality of play vs. the quantity they seem to be very proud of..

I love playing this course when I can get a good deal. The fairways are wide enough and the greens hold really well.

Wow, beautiful shape. Tough, but fair. A challenge for sure, can't wait to go back.

Drove 40 minutes to get there had paid golfnow for three people 18 holes with cart . Management said there would b no carts and they couldn’t get ahold of golf now to infom them , what a lie . They said we can walk , we were refunded by golfnow and said they were very sorry for the inconvenience. Yankee trace said nothing no apology or even a “ what could we do “ again it’s not about the customer but about the money. Poor management. Mistakes happen but they would not responsibility for their lack of action!

Had an 11:30 hot deals tee time and arrived at 10:30. Warmed up on the range and got underway playing from vintage to legend. The course was wide open due to cold weather but it was a sunny day so it was very bearable. There’s a few off season projects in the works for next season so free relief when my ball found one. Course is on very good condition for the horrible drought summer we had and now encoring freezing night time temps. Video is my tee shot of number 8 legend. Very tight fairway so I went iron.

This was my first time playing the Vintage 9 and was pleased with the course layout and condition. The greens rolled great considering the time of year and temps. The layout reminded me of a typical resort style course weaved through a housing development. The houses are not in play unless you really it the ball off line though. The course offered plenty of holes to test shot placement and patience. Will definitely play again.

Course in great shape. Play was a bit slow but understandable due to nice day in October

Cart GPS was very helpful. Courses were in fairly good shape for end of summer. All in all a nice outing.

Nice condition with heat and drought in area. A couple holes seem contrived to fit layout and 18 has water all teh way so look out on right! Overall, a pleasant and fun golf course in SW OH go check it out!

With the length, traps and size of greens, even though it’s pretty open it is a good challenge.

Yankee Trace in great condition, but probably worst day in last 6 weeks to play. Will be back to try again on a better day!

Paid the extra charge for GPS and XM radio, we’ll worth the extra cost. Course was in good shape, greens were showing signs of a long summer of use, but all in all a very nice course, Heritage and Legends course.
