Surprisingly fast pace
I played on a Sunday around 1:00. I got around the course in three and half hours. Not bad for a public course. Play the blue tee if your handicap is less than 15. The starter was very friendly. Bob’s a good guy. The carts are very nice. They come with GPS, WiFi, and music! All this for a reasonable price. The greens were a little slow and people don’t fix their ball marks but I think that is to be expected from a public course.
Pace of play!!!!!
Unfortunately the pace of play was bad @530 on a Thursday evening, usually isn’t like that at all there, very good course and very great staff. Course Pro Steve is very professional and very courteous
Pace of play
Many things are contributing to the downturn of golf. IMO, pace of play is #1. A friend and I each drove an hour to play this course. We’d not played it in 15 years. It will be another 150 years before we go back.
A 724am tee time is a pace setting part of any golf course. It took us 4 hours and 45 minutes to play. We saw plenty of staff before teeing off. We saw none on the front nine. We saw a ranger/starter in #10. We mentioned pace and he just frowned with empathy. There was no further push on the 2nd nine.
Be sure and allow 5 hours of on course time if considering this course.
Amazing course!
I have nothing but positive things to say about Yankee Trace GC! The course was in great shapes and the staff was professional and friendly. We finished 18 holes in under four hours! Great experience, can’t wait to play there again!!
Awesome day
I have nothing but amazing things to say about Yankee Trace golf course just south of Dayton, OH. What a well run facility! Everything was perfect - the starter was on it.. very personable and knowledgeable about the course. The Pro Shop attendant was courteous. The bartender at the turn was FAST and got us right back out on the tee box. And the pace of play was SPECTACULAR. We played our round in 4 hours and 5 minutes. The course offered a multitude of challenges and at the same time was very gettable. Great day. Will be back.
Great Course
Pace was a little slower than normal, but the course was in great shape and the staff was friendly as usual. Highly recommended this course, can't beat the price for this place to play. Will definitely go back.
Yankee Trace
Great course conditions, pace of play, and value! What more can you ask for?
This is a great course! Even with the recent weather conditions (course was super wet) it was still in great shape. The one complaint I have is that we went out as a foursome and it seemed like every group behind us was a twosome or single which would ride us until we let them play through. That made out round about 20 minutes longer than expected but not much of an issue except the start and stop of letting them play through.
They overbook the course every time. There were leagues, an outing and tee times on the course at the same time.
Great course
I played early on a Saturday morning, overall the course and the golf was great. Greens and bunkers in good shape especially with all the rain we’ve had recently. Lots of staff around, multiple rangers keeping pace moving. We played in 4 hours and never really waited.
The real miss on the experience was food/drink options. No beer cart running, no hot food options in the morning. I bought a beer at the turn from the pro shop and waited in line to do so. It is a clear opportunity to make more money but the course doesn’t seem interested.
Grounds were in excellent shape considering the rain we had.
Nice course
The course was in mint condition even playing at 720 am. The greens were immaculate and enjoyable to putt on.
Overbooked
Massive outing, along with numerous leagues made this an impossible 18 hole round. While the staff gave us a voucher for 18 holes, this doesn’t help us with the one day we had available to play golf this week.
Under 4, on the practice green?
