Beach on the putting greens
The course was nice but it would have been better if the greens weren't filled with sand. They should have put the Aeration Alert on to let customers know when they are booking. I can see this course playing better during the summer.
terrible pace of play
1st time there. Course was way overbooked. 2:20 tee time didn't tee off until 2:40 and that was early because me and buddy joined the 2:15 twosome. Had to wait to tee off at every single hole and then wait for 2nd and 3rd shots due to playing right behind a few other groups. Finished the first 9 holes in a little over 3 hours due to waiting at every hole. After the 9 holes there were 4 groups waiting to start the back 9. So i decided to get a hotdog but the grill was closed at 5:45 for some reason. Bought a turkey sandwich for $7.50 and it literally had 1 slice of turkey and swiss cheese. I couldn't believe it. I brought it back inside to show the enployee who agreed it was not reasonable. Opened another turkey sandwich and combined the meats from both to make a still sorry excuse for a sandwich. Started the back 9 and the wait became even more ridiculous and decided to call it a day after the 11th hole. They need to space out their tee times to more than 5 minutes apart. Wouldn't go back unless I was offered some kind of compensation for a terrible day out on what was such a gorgeous spring saturday.
This course is vertically challenging
Coming off the hard winter there is a good deal of maintenance to still do (downed trees, replace the sand in the bunkers,) but I would expect a very scenic and well maintained course as we progress into spring. Mens tees play a bit longer than the average course and the elevations make that more difficult. I look forward to playing here again later in the year. BTW the greens have just been aerated
Friendly staff
Staff were friendly enough to explain the course conditions of the day and to answer questions in detail
1st tme
Found the course on Golfnow, and price was $22.00, which was a good value. Course was wet, but we expected that. I would go there again, if price was right.
Throwing darts
After 4 days of rain, the weather finally broke enough for 4 of us to play in a sunny 15 mile an hour winds. After 3 months of snow & ice, Beaver Brook was a great start of the season. You think non- leaf less trees are challenging, wait till summer! This course is fun & a bit challenging. Some holes you definitely have to throw darts. I would recommend this course if you have the time to enjoy the scenery of Mother Nature!
Looking forward to summer
Played early March 29th. 50 degrees, moderate wind, and rained 15-17th hole.
Starter/employees were great, no problems there. Enjoyed the course, similar to Crystal springs with the layout around a development. Long story short is course is still beat up from the winter, but clearly has the potential to be very nice come spring/summertime. Green's are big, however the pin placement was near ridiculous on a few holes. Course plane opens and ends with 2 par 5's, and it "feels" like throughout the round you are always hitting up to the green and need to club up.
Overall great experience, not mad at average course conditions because there hasn't been a potential for any good conditions anywhere, will be coming back in a few weeks.
Rainy day, course was still in good condition for this early in the season
My friends and I were crazy enough to play this course in the rain today. Overall the course was in good shape considering how early in the season it is and how bad the weather was today. I would definitely recommend playing this course . I look forward to playing it again in better conditions.
Beaver Brook
Not crazy about starting with two par 5s and ending with two par 5s. Course is just Okbut is a good value
Nice course
Really good course with friends
I was play golf on 3-24-14
Except weather everything perfect
It was so cold weather
Anyway we were fun
I like this place because no OB
Very wide course
The most part of good conditions courses
So I strongly recommend this golf course
If you want good golf course go there enjoy golfing
Well designed and maintained
Great course love the par 5s and reachable par 4 9th. It was the first time out and it seemed everyone had the same idea so the course was packed and slow (as expected). But the course was immaculate considering the winter we had. Greens rolled very true. I am excited to see how this course plays in the peak of the season. A must play for sure.
Great, but short
This was a nice course. Pretty scenic. A lot of leaves on the ground, but it's that time of year. If you hit a ball in the leaves, consider it gone.
The course was pretty short. Short pars throughout.
Too much leaves didn,t clean
the course must clean.
But this course didn't clean at11/032013
Good course...just a little slow
Course is a great value but time of play was a bit slow and ranger should have said something to the slower groups.
Tee Boxes and Greens Need Work
I've played Beaver Brook dozens of times, and Golf Now offers some deals out there.... I wouldn't pay full price for this course.... the tee boxes are beat to dirt, with many having little to no grass. Tee boxes also never seem to be level, as they are also on a slant of some sort.
Greens..... tough, and without local knowledge, one can easily 3 putt many of the greens depending on pin placement. As a guiding strategy...you must be below the hole putting uphill. The downhill putts are brutal. Holes 4 and 8 are frankly unfair, as there are times when the greens are cut so short and your uphill putts can miss the hole, and then proceed to roll backward to you, past you, and off the green.
Average course
I have played Beaver Brook several times now and while a decently maintained course, it is fairly average. Tee boxes were more sand than grass. My recent outing was very annoying because of the incredibly slow players in front of us, who didn't care at all that others were backed up behind them and it was getting late. No ranger's ever in site here. I will play this course again, but never again on a weekend
Greens were in great shape, tee boxes were torn up a bit
Good quality course for the money. Fairways and green were in nice shape , tee boxes were in need of repair. overall nice course would return
great round
aside from a few boxes on the back nine just freshly plugged, the course was outstanding. The greens were like glass with lots of undulation ... very very difficult. I found it to be a "thinking players course" with lots of decisions to be made right out of the tee box. I would most certainly return.
One thing though, when I finished my round at approximately 10:30 am the grill room was not open ... would have like to sit down for ten minutes.
Have played the course in the past with better conditions
front 9 holes were closed for reseeding. Had to play the back nine twice.. Was not told that when I made the reservation. I had to travel 1 hour to course and was very disappointed. We should have been reimbursed for the poor conditions and your failure to let us know about the prevailing conditions
