Well designed and maintained
Great course love the par 5s and reachable par 4 9th. It was the first time out and it seemed everyone had the same idea so the course was packed and slow (as expected). But the course was immaculate considering the winter we had. Greens rolled very true. I am excited to see how this course plays in the peak of the season. A must play for sure.
Great, but short
This was a nice course. Pretty scenic. A lot of leaves on the ground, but it's that time of year. If you hit a ball in the leaves, consider it gone.
The course was pretty short. Short pars throughout.
Too much leaves didn,t clean
the course must clean.
But this course didn't clean at11/032013
Good course...just a little slow
Course is a great value but time of play was a bit slow and ranger should have said something to the slower groups.
Tee Boxes and Greens Need Work
I've played Beaver Brook dozens of times, and Golf Now offers some deals out there.... I wouldn't pay full price for this course.... the tee boxes are beat to dirt, with many having little to no grass. Tee boxes also never seem to be level, as they are also on a slant of some sort.
Greens..... tough, and without local knowledge, one can easily 3 putt many of the greens depending on pin placement. As a guiding strategy...you must be below the hole putting uphill. The downhill putts are brutal. Holes 4 and 8 are frankly unfair, as there are times when the greens are cut so short and your uphill putts can miss the hole, and then proceed to roll backward to you, past you, and off the green.
Average course
I have played Beaver Brook several times now and while a decently maintained course, it is fairly average. Tee boxes were more sand than grass. My recent outing was very annoying because of the incredibly slow players in front of us, who didn't care at all that others were backed up behind them and it was getting late. No ranger's ever in site here. I will play this course again, but never again on a weekend
Greens were in great shape, tee boxes were torn up a bit
Good quality course for the money. Fairways and green were in nice shape , tee boxes were in need of repair. overall nice course would return
great round
aside from a few boxes on the back nine just freshly plugged, the course was outstanding. The greens were like glass with lots of undulation ... very very difficult. I found it to be a "thinking players course" with lots of decisions to be made right out of the tee box. I would most certainly return.
One thing though, when I finished my round at approximately 10:30 am the grill room was not open ... would have like to sit down for ten minutes.
Have played the course in the past with better conditions
front 9 holes were closed for reseeding. Had to play the back nine twice.. Was not told that when I made the reservation. I had to travel 1 hour to course and was very disappointed. We should have been reimbursed for the poor conditions and your failure to let us know about the prevailing conditions
not a bad value for the money
not a bad course for the money but the greens were in pretty bad shape. not sure if it was the time of year but they were very firm and many ball marks and sand coming through the green. hard to get a feel for the roll.
Got all day?
Played here in a number of outings over the years. Real nice course and for the most part in pretty good condition (teeing grounds pretty chewed up on many holes, but hey, it IS a public course). It's just that the pace of play is brutal (at least on this past Sunday afternoon it was). Only time I saw a ranger was when I accidentally wandered on to one of the 4 fairways that was cart path only for that day. I just simply forgot and he came flying out of nowhere to "guide me back" to the cart path. Never went up to the foursome in front of us who were an entire hole behind the guys in front of them. Shame....cause it's decent but I really hate to take 5+ hours to play.
Can't Recommend
Painfully slow on a Sunday afternoon. Group in front of his was hacking into the woods from the tips. Group in front of them were a bunch of kids walking and taking their time. No ranger on the course all day. We waited on every single tee box.
Greens were either torn up or in nice shape. Depended on the whole. No one repairs ball marks. Greens speed were all over the place. No way to get a real feel for them. Some greens were challenging though.
Holes 1, 2, 17, 18 are your par 5s which makes you feel like they just put holes where they could fit them.
Fairways and tee boxes were a mess. Carts drove like they were 30 years old but they actually looked new. I'm assuming they were refurbished.
I truly hated playing on this course.
Good, but darn crowded
Have played here many times in the past, all seasons...Enjoyable enough to come back...Generally good experience this time around, but was exceptionally crowded...I'm going to chalk it up to being Wednesday and the docs were on the course, but still....waited on most tee boxes and in the fairways...had trouble getting any type of tempo...a few rangers on the course would have been helpful...that said, decent value and will be back for another shot...probably sooner, rather than later.
Very clean and exciting course
Challenging Green. Distance of some holes may be shorter than said at the score book.
I like to play golf at the Beaver Brook Golf Club.
I played last sunday.
It was very hot.
In the beginning there were water containers.
But I don't see them when I need water at the back line.
it was very nice, except the water containers.
Beautiful views on every hole.
Beautiful course. Nice elevation changes. A yardage book was not available and would be really useful for a first timer. There are a few surprises which could have been planned for. Greens are big and fast and tough to read, but well maintained. Tee boxes need work but not a huge issue. Definitely on the replay list.
God's Waiting Room
This must be what's its like in Fla, dozens of old locals taking for ever to play. Tried to check in half an hour in advance but the old guy at the counter was overwhelmed by the other 2 people in line and said to come back closer to my tee time. The starter was the best part of this day, gave good advise and was friendly. The ranger drove around waving and smiling while the whole course was backed up by a foursome of old timers who have no idea what pace of play is, I think he may have been medicated. Green were quick and true. It may be better at a different time than mid day.
lots of elevation change
The greens were excellent, with some attention the tee's & fairways could be above average. Because of all the rain it was cart path only, can make it a long day on this course.
