Disappointing.
Play was very slow and the Rangers were unable to get the golfers to pick-up pace. We quit after the 16 hole, because three groups were waiting to tee off on the 17th Hole Also, the course did not advise us the greens were aerated and not decent playing condition.
I will not nor will any of my golf friends play at this course again.
4/28/2014
Course was in good condition. The greens still difficult due to all the sand. It will be a lot better in one month.
Joe Williams
The course was very nice, staff was very kind and courteous. Greens seemed a little bumpy due to recent aeration should flatten out nicely. Grounds are undergoing what appears to be storm related damage. Food was excellent, good prices. Would definitely play again
Ok course
This is an ok course needing nothing more than a wood or long iron for a mid to long hitter. The greens and tee boxes were aerated recently. Don't like the fact that there's no practice facility as the course starts off with an intimidating par 5.
The layout of the course could be pretty challenging if you don't pay attention to the landing areas and approaches.
Overall it's early in the season and conditions will improve.
NOT KEPT UP AT ALL
greens and tee boxes were aerated and they never blew off sand on greens or cleaned dirt nuggets from tee boxes. thank god I only paid 19 a person through golf now or I would of been upset plus it cost me 7.50 for 2 snickers bars and a bag of pretzel's and no drinks available!!! all in all my son and I had a good time but it isn't worth the money they ask regularly!!! I wouldn't go back!!!
Beaver Brook
Course layout is good. Putting conditions were not good because the Greens were air-raided.
BeaverBrook
The greens were being aerated and I wasn't informed prior to booking my teetime through golf now, so I was a little disappointed. But besides that fact, it was definitely a great course. When the greens are back in shape, this might be my favorite course in the Central Jersey area that is affordably priced.
good potential
looks like i'll like course in future ,however all green were just aerated when we played this week.interesting lay out could be real fun course
Beaver Brook
With absolutely no advance notice, both the Tee Boxes and Greens were aerated on ALL 18 holes. Not just a portion of the greens-the entire greens. In addition, maintenance crews were constantly utilizing high speed commercial blowers(not backpacks) to clear off the plugs. Very disappointing conditions. This course should not have been open.
airrated greens
I have played here many times. The greens were in poor condition. They need to have rangers to speed up play 5 hours is too long.
Beach on the putting greens
The course was nice but it would have been better if the greens weren't filled with sand. They should have put the Aeration Alert on to let customers know when they are booking. I can see this course playing better during the summer.
terrible pace of play
1st time there. Course was way overbooked. 2:20 tee time didn't tee off until 2:40 and that was early because me and buddy joined the 2:15 twosome. Had to wait to tee off at every single hole and then wait for 2nd and 3rd shots due to playing right behind a few other groups. Finished the first 9 holes in a little over 3 hours due to waiting at every hole. After the 9 holes there were 4 groups waiting to start the back 9. So i decided to get a hotdog but the grill was closed at 5:45 for some reason. Bought a turkey sandwich for $7.50 and it literally had 1 slice of turkey and swiss cheese. I couldn't believe it. I brought it back inside to show the enployee who agreed it was not reasonable. Opened another turkey sandwich and combined the meats from both to make a still sorry excuse for a sandwich. Started the back 9 and the wait became even more ridiculous and decided to call it a day after the 11th hole. They need to space out their tee times to more than 5 minutes apart. Wouldn't go back unless I was offered some kind of compensation for a terrible day out on what was such a gorgeous spring saturday.
This course is vertically challenging
Coming off the hard winter there is a good deal of maintenance to still do (downed trees, replace the sand in the bunkers,) but I would expect a very scenic and well maintained course as we progress into spring. Mens tees play a bit longer than the average course and the elevations make that more difficult. I look forward to playing here again later in the year. BTW the greens have just been aerated
Friendly staff
Staff were friendly enough to explain the course conditions of the day and to answer questions in detail
1st tme
Found the course on Golfnow, and price was $22.00, which was a good value. Course was wet, but we expected that. I would go there again, if price was right.
Throwing darts
After 4 days of rain, the weather finally broke enough for 4 of us to play in a sunny 15 mile an hour winds. After 3 months of snow & ice, Beaver Brook was a great start of the season. You think non- leaf less trees are challenging, wait till summer! This course is fun & a bit challenging. Some holes you definitely have to throw darts. I would recommend this course if you have the time to enjoy the scenery of Mother Nature!
Looking forward to summer
Played early March 29th. 50 degrees, moderate wind, and rained 15-17th hole.
Starter/employees were great, no problems there. Enjoyed the course, similar to Crystal springs with the layout around a development. Long story short is course is still beat up from the winter, but clearly has the potential to be very nice come spring/summertime. Green's are big, however the pin placement was near ridiculous on a few holes. Course plane opens and ends with 2 par 5's, and it "feels" like throughout the round you are always hitting up to the green and need to club up.
Overall great experience, not mad at average course conditions because there hasn't been a potential for any good conditions anywhere, will be coming back in a few weeks.
Rainy day, course was still in good condition for this early in the season
My friends and I were crazy enough to play this course in the rain today. Overall the course was in good shape considering how early in the season it is and how bad the weather was today. I would definitely recommend playing this course . I look forward to playing it again in better conditions.
Beaver Brook
Not crazy about starting with two par 5s and ending with two par 5s. Course is just Okbut is a good value
