High Bridge Hills Golf Club

My wife and I recently retired, so we play during the week, not on weekends. Unfortunately, some people act like weekdays are for leisurely walks and chitchat. The group two groups ahead of us was slow as molasses running uphill in February. We constantly caught up with the group in front of us on the tee waiting for the slowpokes in front of them to hit their second shot and get off the fairway. Nice course but need more action by the rangers.

Pace of play not amazing, staff always friendly and accommodating. Bunkers are iffy “rocks” clean that up get a ranger out there, course is a HR.

Last time at High Bridge Hills was March 2022.

The greens were EXCELLENT for a public facility.

The fairways were in decent shape considering the excessive rain and high temps earlier in July and August.

Some Tee boxes were in need of care, but based on the play the course receives, quite understandable.

Staff was very accommodating and helpful.

Target golf at its best with high rough and numerous elevation challenges. Our 2some played in 3 hours despite losing about 4 balls from off line shots.

Will definitely return in the near future

This course used to be one of my favorites. Played yesterday because I had a free round thanks to Golf Now. The course layout is still one of my favorites but they've really let the course go. The tee boxes had high grass, fairways were chewed up and brown and greens were all patchy. Oh and the 11th hole was closed. Really a shame.

Third time playing here. In great shape despite the recent rain. Tough due to the changes in elevation. Nice 19th hole with good food, try the wings.

I have played this course a few times a year. Not sure what happened to the fairways but there were bare spots in most of the fairways. Looks like there is some kind of fungus. Fescue was up and lots of it. Makes the course hard and a great look. Will be back again.

I've played this course numerous times over the last 5-8 years, and drive an hour+ to do so because I enjoy the layout, the condition, pace of play, etc.

For whatever reason, the course condition right now is the worst I have ever seen it. Patchy dead grass throughout the fairways, tee boxes are a mess, and you cannot play out of the bunkers without safety eyewear (because there's no "sand" [dirt] at all and the bottom is just covered with small rocks).

Is it under new management or something, because it's in very poor shape compared to previous years. Even when it's been very hot and dry in the past, it's never been this bad.

I hope it bounces back soon, or I may just have to stop making the effort to play at HBH.

First let me be clear I love the layout of High Bridge and the greens are amazing. Staff always friendly and helpful. The conditions of the fairways and tee boxes are the worst I've seen at this course ever!! I’ve played there for a long long time. Until they get the bunkers worked out and water the fairways I can say I’ll not be playing there. I can’t recommend this course for the amount you are asked to pay. God willing they will hire a grounds crew that’s going to find a way to get water to the fairways and fix the boxes and bunkers

Cartpath only when it’s literally 102* is irresponsible and puts people at risk. Saying it’s to protect the course is unacceptable. Close the course if it’s that important. I drove 90 minutes to get there and took a day off and they do that. I’ll never play there again.

Have played this course numerous times in the past but have never seen it in such bad conditions. Tee boxes were in horrible conditions, Fairways had patches of grass but mostly brown patches or no grass at all resulting bad lies everywhere. Paying $90 for this round was total waste of money. Not an enjoyable round.

A few holes into it we realized it was tough. All the people there were friendly and they have a little bar.

Drove 1hr and half because course always pop on golfnow and wanted play, because i love links course and this course look amazing

Over $100 is not acceptable

Very nice but tough course. You need to be very precise with your shots. Stay out of the fescue it will add so many strokes to your score. Overall the course is in great shape, but hard pan bunkers which is to my liking. We would definitely play this course again 100%. It's an all open links style course, no trees to hide from the sun so bring your sunscreen, and a portable fan would be nice to have too. Pace of place wasy super slow due to having three 4 somes of Koreans in from of us that all knew each other. We called the club house, they came out and told them to speed up pace of play, but they were still super slow. It was nerve racking.
