Well worth the hot deal.
I just played this course yesterday and the conditions were very good. The greens were in very good shape and the fairways were well maintained. I would play this course anytime. Very challenging and if you break 80 you should be happy because this is a tough course.
Fairways too long. Lack of supervision.
Need rangers to accelerate play. Fairways tool g. Poor demarcation betw fairways and rough.
Ths course is a fun track
I enjoyed playing. This is a mature course with some pretty and interesting holes, good for your average weekend golfer. I hope they can put some attention to the course conditions. The best fairways we found were on 17 and 18, the rest seemed a bit chewed up.
a failing golf coarse
empty nobody there a real dump. greens were furery and the place is failing. Alot of diseased fairways too.
nice course, well maintained, flat easy to walk
Very nice course
pleasant to walk and well maintained
Easy to book, not crowded
Been played 8 times. A little bit expensive for quality of the course. But easily approachable location, not crowded and easy to get T time are definitely benefit. Good course to walk.
cow o pasture, horrible condition, greens furry, fairway in rough shape, couldn't tell dif between rough and fairways.
Not worth playing. Better off saving your money. Course in horrible shape, greens furry
Interesting Blue Grass Greens and Poor Maintenance
Emerson is a challenging layout. Unfortunately, maintenance is almost nonexistent. There was crab grass growing in the front bunker on the 9th hole, fairways are not well maintained ( it cries out for winter rules), and the greens are beat up pretty badly. The parking lot looks like it should have been repaved 10 years ago, and the club house is a wreck. There is crab grass all over the place. Back to the layout. From the members tees this course plays very long. Too long to be enjoyable for most 8 to 15 handicaps from the members (white) tees. It is hard to lose a ball on this course as there is a lot of room off the fairway to recover errant shots. The only salvation is that the blue grass greens putt really true (although really slow). I would love to see this course in top condition, but I won't hold my breath.
Conditions are terrible
Course layout could make this a terrific course...but the lack of attention makes this course a cow pasture...besides cutting grass there is no grounds keeping taking place at Emerson...bunkers are rocks and weeds...the few that have sand do not have rakes leaving footprints,...tee boxes are poorly maintained...greens are in poor shape especially...hole 16 which has been under repair for over a year...sadly this course at one time was well maintained. They charge you as if it were...it is in dismal shape...
Awful condition. Should be removed from the list
This course is in awful condition. I would not play it again even if it were free
This course is flat and easy to maneuver
This course was great for a quick round, although not very challenging. The course is in need of repair but has great potential. The staff was split between cordial with some being super friendly and helpful.
Not worth the money
The course is in terrible condition, especially given the price. Grass on the fairways and greens was bumpy and sparse. Looked like a shoddy municipal course, not one that charges $87 per round. Definitely not worth it.
Horrible Conditions
NOT worth the $87!!!
The fairways are not fairways...just mud
We teed off at 8am and the greens were so bumpy.
Not very well maintained.
Would not recommend anyone.
Course is horrable, with fairways of mud bunkers full of water .
Paid close to ninety dollar for a Bergen county course that was in terrible shape. Not a way to enjoy a Sunday round of golf. Hate to say you are better to go someplace else then spend was that kind of cash.
At least you're playing golf
I live in Emerson and the course is very close to my house. I have played this course many times, and it seems to get worse as the season goes on. The course is not really maintained and it is almost impossible to find your ball even if you are in the middle of the fairway.
this course is in absolutely terrible shape
the first 5 greens were unputtable the tee boxes were also in terrible condition was not enjoyable round of golf for the money that was spent there!!!!
Super friendly staff...great value!
I got an awesome deal playing Emerson. The pro shop staff was very accommodating and warm, but the highlight was the starter/ Marshall...this guy was super friendly and helpful. He warned us that there was a kids camp on a couple holes and if we could be so kind as to play around them. We did this for him and he got us back on the course after we played 18 and we got to all the missed holes and a whole lot more! What could have been an ugly situation was managed by the starter so well that it was one of my faverite days on the course this year...thanks!
The course was lush and green and open
The course was in good shape except the grass on some of the greens was a bit thin.
One of the worst courses I have ever played.
When I pulled into the parking lot at Emerson I did not get a good feeling as there were very few cars ( not a good sign on a beautiful day for golf). As my son and I were about to hit our shots on the first tee, the starter came up to us and said we would have to start on the 6th hole as he was sending out a group for an outing and they would be starting on holes 1 through 5. (even though we had a 1:00P.M. starting time which was the time we were on the tee.)Emerson is in terrible shape. The tee boxes, fairways and especially the greens are a mix of crab grass, weeds and dirt patches. The vast majority of fairways could not be played where our balls came to rest because of the terrible conditions. Of course after finishing the 18th hole and returning to the first tee there was a group in the fairway and another on the green slowing us down to finish this mostly unpleasant round.
Usually a good course...
...but the fairways were in rough shape with quite a bit of uneven patches throughout. One green was under repair in the back nine (par 3 16th hole). Considering the conditions, $87 for Saturday mid-morning was bit steep.
The course outline itself is interesting enough and challenging, and would have no problem recommending to others if the course was in better condition.
