Soldier Hill Golf Course

It is located in Bergen County, NJ. So it is bit pricy. They seem to maintain the course okay. Unlike other courses in Bergen County, the course is flat, wide and long in most holes.

Be accurate on the tee ball. Landing in the rough may be penal as you have to contend with bunkers. Leave the ball under the hole.

As I mentioned, the golf course condition is terrible.No maintenance, and actually it's not prepared for the season. Because of that, the price (green tee) is absolutely too high.

If you want get a round in Bergen County, NJ which is relatively close to NYC, this is probably the most convenient course outside the county municipal courses. The track is maintained relatively well, except for a few tee boxes. Also, there are a few holes that do not drain that well which will require cart path only on days that it rained the day before. Typical round during the summer months will be around the 4 1/2 hour range. During my last visit, my twosome was able to get around in about 3 1/2. The greens fees is on the high side, charging almost $90 for weekend green fee. I would not pay that rate. I paid $60 last time, so deals can be had. Overall, its a good value at $60 due to convenience.

The course is not well maintained especially the bunkers and the greens. The staff at the front desk is very rude and not very friendly, he should learn how to handle clients and he does not speak fluent English . I will not recommend this course to all of my friends.
I am very disappointed and wasted my time playing here.

The course condition was good considering we played on Mar 30th. Generally everything was good and I would go back even though it was really slow. It took 5.5 hours to play a round, every par 3 had 2-3 groups on deck. A local person told me the slow pace was a common occurance on weekends.

Staff was friendly and even brought cart to car upon our arrival, which is really nice for a public golf course.

They have a range but it does not allow drivers only irons.

This used to be a nice course, but ever since the course was bought by the new management, the course has gone down hill. The owner/manager did not even resolve an issue that needed police attention. A person tried to run over a pedestrian with his car in the parking lot, and almost killed someone, and the manager was made aware of the situation, and he did not do anything. The owner was negligent, and needs to hold accountability for allowing that kind of behavior to happen. Absolutely unacceptable, and then they have this arrogance thinking that their course is the best course in the area... more like only course in that area otherwise everyone else would've golfed some place else.

Played both Thanksgiving day and Friday, lots of players but pace of play was good. Finished in 4 hrs 15 min. Course was cleaned and well maintained....maint. crews tried blow all leave on greens. Fairways and greens were excellent condition, rolls
really good on greens. Beverage cart was driving around and that was the good service. Great experience with my friends.

I really like the course, after Hurricane course really cleaned fairways, tee boxes and greens. Staffs was really friendly and pace of play was great, took us less than 4 hours to finish 18 holes. Rate is excellent for weekend and took only 25 mins from city.

Over than 5 hours on Monday!! No rangers in the course. You should have helmet in the course. The ball can be in your back, front or top of your head!!!

Found course to be in very good shape and very playable. Whites were challenging for average golfer at 6500 distance, but enjoyable.

This course is managed very poorly. The starter does his best to accommodate everyone, however, people do no listen to him and do whatever they want. I'm sure management is just collecting as much money as possible.

Tee times are bunched together and players tee off #1 every 5 minutes. Was waiting 10-15 minutes every hole. At the turn, 3 groups were waiting in front of us, and one was behind us. So, at that point, there were 5 groups on hole 10. After that, could not imagine staying for 9 more holes. N

course has good layout but is out of shape it needs a haircut &a shave

Friendly course staff. Close to NYC. A little expensive (without discount) for quality of course, compared to other NJ courses in similar price range. Often crowded, which means waiting and longer rounds. A couple holes are very close to one another and can become a shooting gallery with errant shots, so watch out on #1 and #10. Overall fun to play and I keep going back.

The front 9 is pretty good and the back is in below average condition
