maybe end of season condition.
front nine tee boxes chewed up
big mud patches on the fairways and or rotted grass areas.

Awful pace of play
Have played hundreds of rounds at different place. This was top 2 worst pace of plays of my life. We were waiting about 15 minutes on each shot. Paid for 18 holes and was only able to play 10 because the group in front of us took forever and didn't consider asking us if we wanted to play through and nobody was there to speed it up. Also I left a club there which I get is totally my fault so that's not the complaint. When I figured it out the next day I called and asked if they had it and was told that they do. I went to pick it up and it wasn't there. Other than the above, for a county course in late August, the course was in decent shape. This was exceptional especially because of how hot it's been and how dried out other courses are. It's also a decent track that isn't too challenging but also isn't easy at the same time.

Has potential
Pace of play is horrible. Sand in traps need a major upgrade.

course is in good shape
The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The starter made us feel welcome.
The greens were true and in good condition and the traps were in fien shape.

Unexpectedly good
Other then the tee boxes and the sand traps
Course was in good shape
Greens and fairways were very well kept.

rude staff. no rain check
i’ve played here many times over the years. Played today and in fairness the course was in pretty good condition. 4 1/2 holes in, we got torrential rain that left massive puddles and flooding on the fairways and greens. This course does not drain well and became unplayable. We waited for him a while and then drove in in the rain. The whole course was heading to the clubhouse. When I got there and ask for a rain check, the staff was incredibly rude and just barked “no rain checks no rain checks no rain checks for anyone “. it turns out they do have a handprinted sign at the check-in desk that says no refunds once your round starts. The course was unplayable. The rain was continuing. There was lightning in the area. But “no rain checks no rain checks no rain checks“ no empathy no apology just rudely barking “no rain checks“ over and over and over and over. If this review is annoying to you imagine how it felt to all the golfers. Be aware this course does not believe in player/customer service. I will not be going back and I do not recommend this course to anybody. There are too many other great options in the region.
I truly do not like to write bad reviews. These guys deserved it. They could’ve handled this better with just even the little bit of effort. But they did not try at all.
also course does not drain well. It does not handle water well. So be aware before you play. Check your weather conditions carefully and frankly, you’re better off booking elsewhere

Golfnow presented a fake green fees
When making a booking, green fees for 4 people was $160 ($40 per a player). However, the Soldiers hill golf course charged $60 per a player saying Golfnow misrepresented the green fees. My family and I relied on Golfnow guarantee but it fails us. Regrouping on 4th of July was not going well due to this unpleasant experience.

Nice round to start the weekend
This is a favorite of mine, as a NYC resident a bit tough to get tee times. So a 7:40, 24 hours in advance and nabbed a twosome. Starter got us out at 7:35, pace of play was great, done in just under 4 hours. Course conditions were excellent for a Bergen County Course, especially the greens. My only issue was there was no food or beverage and water put out at only 5-6 of the tee boxes. Otherwise, a fun solid round, will definitely be back!
