Place is a joke
Tee off around 1:50.
I am a 15 handicap and Im 2 over through 6
Feeling great.
It starts to drizzle and a loud horn goes off. As golfers from outside there “county” (apparently the only term the people who run this place know) we drive back to the clubhouse. I figure we will wait it out or get a raincheck.
This obnoxious ranger comes over and immediately informs us that there is no rain checks and blames “county Rules”
We then decide to wait out the rain. It then completely stops raining, sun is out and the guy wont let us back out. There are several groups out riding in carts playing but this clown wont let us out as a punishment for coming in on the first horn. People are teeing off 20 feet away and he wont let us go back. No rain check, cant play, and by now its gorgeous out.
Finally in what we assumed was the clown being a normal human being, he tells us that its cart path only and literally waves us out.
We go back to the 6th hole and suddenly he is chasing us down waving his hands telling us he didn’t tell us to go out
It was like the Twilight zone.
I then call the clubhouse and ask to speak to whoever is in charge who wasn't any more helpful.
So $50 for 5 holes. No raincheck and we weren’t allowed to play through the rain.
This place is run like crap. Would never go back to this place. There are alot of other courses in the area that are run by people with common sense

Surprised a county course could be this nice
First time I have played this course, had no expectations, but was pleasantly surprised by greens, fairways, and overall condition of facilities, would play again

Nice course
First tune at Soldier Hill and I was very impressed. Due to the pandemic, we had to walk and it was one if the easier walking courses in the area. It became my favorite Bergen county course. Can't wait to play again

Soldier Hill - Played Alone
With the new rules, veery few get to play and with 20 minutes between starts you don't see anyone, in front or behind for the whole round. The course was in great shape though a little wet. Greens were perfect but fast.
The other person who signed for the time slot didn't show so I played the course alone. Just me and the geese.

Better Last Time than 1st time
When I 1st played here the pace was awful and conditions so-so. They have improved a lot and continue to get better. With a fix of the pace issue and maintenance of the tee boxes, this will become a gem in Bergen County.
Soldier Hill on Columbus Day
The cashier did not honor the GolfNow price of $50 because it was Columbus Day even though I had the email that showed $50 price. They charged us $60 plus $16 for a cart.
There was no one at the restaurant for 20 minutes.
Great course in great condition
A very enjoyable round. tees ,fairways, and greens in great shape. Putting green and limited driving range available. No chipping are. Sparse on site restaurant area. Worth a visit for a nice round

The course in Bergen county if you’re looking for a longer track
This is the third time I’ve played soldier Hill, and I really enjoy this course. It’s longer than most courses in the area, certainly the longest in Bergen County, and it presents good challenges to mid handicap golfers and up.
The pace of play depends on when you play… A lot of players prefer to walk so that is going to slow things down on a weekend… But tough to argue with the exercise!
The staff is top notch, and they do a good job of moving things along as best I can… I definitely recommend it…
