About
Located just south of Defiance, Auglaize Golf Club is situated along the river that it gets its name from. The river wraps around the entire front nine but there is plenty of water throughout the golf course, it comes into play on a total of 13 holes. Water isn't the only challenge, though. There are more than 30 bunkers strategically placed throughout. Still, the most difficult element of the course is the varied shapes and contours of the greens, which can make them tough to hit. Most of the holes on the front nine are framed by mature trees, but the back nine opens up a bit more. The second half of the golf course is also more forgiving. Auglaize Golf Club requires thoughtful strategy and creative shot making but it's not overly punishing for the high handicapper.

Pleasant Surprised
Didn’t know what to expect. Very affordable, seemed to good to be true. Easy drive from Fort Wayne 45-50 minutes for us. Really enjoyed playing this course. It’s fairly short but with it having some creative holes and several Doglegs, it makes for an interesting experience. Green were in great shape and also have a good amount of break to many of them. Tee boxes and fairways were fine, they are not like Cherry Hill, Autumn Ridge, or Chestnut… but this course is half the cost. My son and I Really enjoyed playing here. We will definitely be back.
Mid morning solo
Played 18 by myself. Everyone was great with letting play through. Except 1 guy walking. I waited for every shot on 12,13,14,&15. He finally let me thru on 16. The annoying part was every hole in front of the walker was open and he just acted like he didn’t know anyone was behind him when he clearly seen me driving up to 12 green while he walked to 13 tee

I’ve at played Auglaize Country Club for 40 years, the shape the course is in is an embarrassment, I’ve ever played a course in worse shape. This course has turned into a cattle pasture it’s not even worth playing. It sad that Auglaize was the standard in its day. The owners should be embarrassed. It’s not worth 1 Star
