Big Met Golf Course

About
Big Met Golf Course boasts the title of being Ohio's most-played golf course. Since opening in 1926, it has hosted an impressive 6,000,000 rounds of golf. The course is nestled into the Rock River Valley along gently rolling hills. One of the course's defining features is the dike that helps to hold back the Rocky River, which can be viewed from several holes. Although the golf course as it exists now differs dramatically from the original layout thanks to numerous improvements over the years, including lengthening and remodeling the seventh and eighth holes, it has retained the same playability that has earned its reputation. Big Met Golf Course is not overly challenging but there are a few strategically placed bunkers and tricky rough areas, as well as a moderate amount of length.

Most inconsistent course around
Slow play, shaggy greens, cups had grass growing around the edges. I’m not impressed
Solid straightforward course
Have played here probably over 100 times and never disappointed. Flat, well kept, old school parkland course with lots of trees. Back nine is really secluded and ya feel totally off the grid. Ya won’t see a single house the entire 18. Great walking course.
Great condition
I only played 12 but it was a challenging 12 holes before my back gave out ….beautiful course and starter is very polite and professional….
Always a solid choice
Great metroparks course in well kept condition. Lots of trees as it is in the middle if the Rocky River reservation, but surprisingly the woods don't majorly affect too many of the holes so its not an overly difficult of a course.
Great Course
I can't get over how nice this course is. The conditions are among the best I've ever played.
The Course Was in Superb Condition!
The course could not have been in better shape. I can't wait to play it again.
This was my first time at Big Met this season. Even though I walked it was great to see the newly paved cart paths. We started early, with a lot of dew on the fairways and as always the first hole is a nightmare with the sun in your eyes. The fairways and greens with in good shape, and bunkers have new sand in them. My only complaint is that Big Met is not supposed to be as difficult as Manikiki and Sleepy Hollow. Quit trying to make it that way by growing the rough that deep one less inch would still be punitive but not beyond the average golfer
Different Day, Same Pin placement
I’ve been playing big met regularly over the past 3 years due to convenience due to the courses proximity my home.
The problem with big met is that they do not change the pins regularly. The grass is always on the edge of the cups. They have poanna grass which is very thick and flowers up. I’ve complained several times and nothing changes.
Don’t expect regulation cups
