Franklin Golf Club

About
Franklin Golf Course is a player-friendly, nine-hole course that is perfect for beginners. At 2,559 yards from the tips, the course plays to a par of 35. While the layout is not exactly a challenge, it does provide a quick round that is good for some practice. The bentgrass greens are well-maintained and putt true. There is no water on the course but there are a few strategically placed bunkers throughout. The hazards are nothing too serious though. The traditional layout has remained largely unchanged since opening in 1941. The golf course easily accommodates those who are new to the game but seasoned players looking for a challenging round will have to go elsewhere though the affordable rates are enough to appeal to any skill level.

decient course fo the money
Good course for the money booked a tee time was raining hard when we got there they offered a discounted price due to the fact we couldn't take a cart after making it to the second hole they came out w a cart for us to use. There are lots of hills but over all this course is a great little gem. Fairways and tee boxes are not the greatest but for the price u can't expect too much. We stopped to grab lunch at the turn was very nice price and tasted great. Staff was very friendly and informative. Course layout takes a little to GE used to but once again well played course.
Price Makes it Right!
The Course is a nice course if your looking for an elevation challenging course. Its a well kept course and the staff was friendly. We golfed here because it was $10 9 holes with cart so you can't beat that. I and my wife are not great golfers and this course was a challenge for us but overall this course is worth checking out.
This course is discounted for a reason
Nothing you wouldn't expect for cheap golf I guess. Club house is a shack, and the fairways/tee-box are all the same rarely maintained grass.
Do not play here
This place needs to shut down..it's horrible.i would never recommend this course
This is a short course but fun to play.
It is a short course and is fairly easy. It can be walked very easy. It is only a 9 hole course which you play twice to get in your 18 holes. It was not too crowded, but did get backed up on a few holes, but the wait was short. It is a good course for an average player and has a good price.
Disappointed
Showed up, the parking lot wasn't even full for a 10 am tee time and they were out of carts. So we had to take a rain check, this being on the Fourth of July so a wasted day off of work, they could have called and told us before we made the drive.
Setup is Great - conditions weak
The course is a little dated, and it's evident that they keep overhead to the minimum to maintain the local clientele and very low price point for a 9 hole round. Good quick play even though there was a moderate golfer load. Course conditions were rough (tee to green), but the grass was green - though the greens were long and the transition from fairway to rough was non-existent. I'd play it again - it has interesting terrain and a lot of potential......
Surprised me
First of all I had the wrong address. The golf course was okay. I guess you get what you pay for. I was just trying to get some swings in and that's what I did. The locals I'm sure love it.
Not what I expected
Course was very rough. Hardly a fairway, took for ever to find balls because of dandelions and such. I will not be going back
Franklin= BAD
Started with golf cart not working ecause they are old. Then the locals were rude. 4 consecutive times they hit ball almost on top of us. Would not play through and would not wait. Tried to hit us. Almost everything but fairway was in rough condition and I swear, the greens were crabgrass. DONT PLAY. Then proceeded to tell manager on duty about locals, and she decided to walk away on a phone call instead of listening. Bad service
Great for beginners
This is a easy place to play and you can play it fast. The greens were in great shape but the tee boxes could use some help. I will be back only because it's so cheap. I paid $8 for nine holes with a cart.
The fairways and T-boxes need a lot of attention
There were a lot of undesirable grasses and clover in the fairways. Made it difficult to locate the balls.
Fun course for the kiddos
Me and a friend of mine took our boys (5 and 3) out to play this course. I never knew it was there, but saw a great rate on this site and decided to jump on it. Worked out great because the course was pretty dead in the morning, so we take as long as we wanted. Greens in pretty good condition, tee boxes and fairways a little shaggy. Overall had a great time and was challenged, and the boys had fun too.
really green greens
very few bad spots, greens were really nice, just very small, I would definitely play there often.
Wouldn't play again if it was free!
Played with my 9yr old son. By far the worst course I've ever played. The lady at the front desk acted like it was a burden to check us in. Couldn't tell the fairways from the rough. Holes almost crisscross, which caused constant yelling of 'four' from people. Took five hours to play. I could go on and on, but to make a long story short, I wouldn't play that course again if it were offered for free.
Lots of hills
This course sits in the middle of an urban area, but you don't realize it while you are playing. Each of the courses 9 holes have hills to navigate. These hills, tight fairways, and small greens make this a challenging course. The hills make for awkward lies even when you are in the fairway. There are many blind shots, so be aware where the group in front of you really are. The small greens were smooth and maintained very well. However, the tee-boxes are crude and marginally maintained. Hole 4/13 is tricky. It has two greens vice the two tee boxes that the other holes have. The price we got on Golfnow.com made this a great value for 18 holes.
Nice 9 hole course.
I didn't realize this was a 9 hole course when I booked, but we had a great price for 18 holes. We just played different tees the second time around. It was a little hilly but in good shape. I probably won't go back but that is because it is 50 miles each way.
This course is a terrible joke
The course was an outrageous joke, the tee box was not cut it, was equivalent to teeing up in the rough. The golf carts had barley any brakes you would do a 180 degree turn in the so called fairway numerous times. The hole locations are very confusing with no assistance at all, and to top it all off there was not yardage markers on the course. To be honest I could build a better course in my back yard.
this course will keep you thinking
was pleased with the course. greens was very nice, for the money you just cannot beat it, we will play it again. The only thing I would say that needs some attention is the directions to the correct green, couple of holes was difficult to tell now to go.
Get what you pay for
Big discount from Golf Now made its around $14/person for 18 holes w/ cart. Course is very hilly and can barely make out fairways on some holes.
