Run away as fast as you can!!!!!
If you read the reviews before you book, you would not have played at all. Played 5 holes and walked off the course. Paid $18 and I would be better just hitting a bucket of balls. The worst golf course in your home town, would be a 50 star compared to this one. Please read the reviews before you play.
Course is always great for the price, however, the greens are in bad shape. Apparently the chemical company servicing the greens added the wrong chemicals and killed everything. If you are looking to get out of the house and hit some balls for a cheap price, by all means goto freeway. If you re looking to keep score, don't bother.
This course is in horrible shape the greens look like they need a dermatologist ,tees were in bad shape and leaves on more then half of fairways. Thank goodness I only played for the $10. offer or I would have walked off after the 2nd hole.
Non refundable needs to be changed
The overall course condition was horrible and saying it was a cow pasture would be a compliment. From the tee boxes to the greens, it was an absolute disgrace and we should be refunded our money. This website should notify all customers when a course is not in any condition to play and this course was not in condition to play golf. I'm very disgusted that it was even available .... need to check out the courses that are being sold on your website.
Don't do it, no matter how cheap
The golf course is in worst shape I've ever seen a course. Paid $17 on golf now and wasn't worth it. Gave up on this course a long time ago but got roped in because of price. Half the greens had 40% of the green gone. Unputtable ! Rough and fairway have merged to all weeds...ground a rock. Tee boxes a joke. No one ensures pace of play is maintened etc... pro shop and eating area remind me of abandoned building from the 80's. On positive note golf cart was in good shape and fastest I've driven.
Very Bad shape unless your within 5 feet of hole.
The greens are in very bad shape. The fairways have a lot of bald spots. The tee boxes are bad , but playable. We got on the course for about 12 bucks a piece so I cant complain about the price. The pro shop is pretty much empty. They didn't even has balls to sell. If you want to be able to play really cheap in about 3 hours , and you are working on your game. It is worth playing. If you want to be able to play and not have to pick your ball up to hit off of grass, this is not the place. Also , I have t mention that the Food at there kitchen is outstanding.
The staff is always great but the course is in need of an overhaul. There was no grass on the fairways and every green is destroyed. Leave your putter at home if you don't want to be totally disgusted. Putts don't l go in over bumps and missing grass on EVERY green. I am a fairway golfer and fairways don.t exist. Maintenance is horrific. Hugh dead trees are everywhere and have been down with dead leaves for several months. We returned one more time to see if the course had been cleaned up as promised but to our disappointment it was not. We use to enjoy golfing here when it was in an acceptable condition but we will not be returning any time soon.
Course Should Be closed
The staff was great, the course should be closed. In 30 years of playing golf it was the worst course I have ever played on. There was no grass on the fairways every green was diseased and destroyed. It is a shame since the layout is great to take my kid.
It's sad what has happened to the course
I have lived in this area all my life. Freeway Golf Course used to be really nice and well cared for. The course is wide open and very forgiving. The back nine is more of a challenge and more fun for me. The bad storm we had a few months ago really seemed to have taken its toll on the course. They lost a bunch of trees and the back nine was closed for months because of debris. The overall condition of the course is terrible to say the least. The greens are ugly. The best thing I can say about it is the price was right. Very cheap. If you just want to hit the ball and not worry about everything else, go for it.
A few years back this course was decent for $20 and under, now I wouldn't play there again if they paid ME. They put no effort into maintaining the course at all . Giant uprooted trees everywhere from a storm that was 2 months ago. The greens were horrific, unbelievably un puttable. They do not water anything & recently had their water shut off despite getting a million to allow a cell tower on the property. Carts are in bad shape . The guy in the "pro shop" ( a generous term here) always acts like you are a bother when he cannot find your Golfnow tee time on his antiquated computer. The only saving grace is the attractive cart girl.
Ah yes, Freeway. The greens are the worst I've ever encountered. Ever. The fairways are terribly cut. The older gentleman is anything but welcoming and friendly. The price is the same as its surrounding courses. Although, the facilities are three times as clean. The staff is three times as friendly. And the course is three times as nice. I'm guessing Freeway is in serious financial trouble. There isn't any other way to explain the pricing despiration and the poor attitudes. However, I would definitely suggest Freeway to a beginner or someone who was looking to start an interest in the game. Very easy course and very few hazards, other than the unintentional ones laying on the greens and fairways.
This course should be closed!
Only paid $20 per player but that was even too much for the shape this course was in. I've never seen anything like it. Fairways were brown & dying and the greens if that's what you want to call them were just sand!
Worst Course Ever!
Upon arriving at the "Pro Shop", there was absolutely nothing for sale, not one tee not one ball, could be purchased. All the walls were empty as well as the glass counters. No inventory was there at all. I asked the guy if they were going out of business and he replied, "could be". At this point I wanted to leave but I had already paid on line. I went out to the 1st tee and could not believe my eyes. The tee boxes were all dirt with no green visible. The fairways were totally burned-out from lack of water. No green grass at all. Apparently the irrigation system was out as well as the pumps. The greens were all just packed sand with a green patch scattered here and there. This place should be shut down to preclude anyone from wasting their money. I spent $23.00. The regular green fees with cart was $35.00. I have been playing golf for over 35 years on about 60-70 different golf courses. This, without a doubt was the worse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
