Golfer Reviews
Rough was a little rough
Course was in good shape and pace of play was not as bad as we originally thought it would be. However, the rough was an issue as it sucked up balls that I knew where they landed, but could not find except if it was someone’s else’s ball. Still, an enjoyable round. Also, still think they need a better way to let people know fairways are clear on those blind tee shots on the back nine.
What happened to Westwood?
I grew up playing Westwood from a very young age and even played in a few leagues there. Haven't played the course in about 5 years and figured I'd give it a go yesterday afternoon. All I can say, is wow- and NOT in a good way! The tee boxes were complete crap- more dead grass and sand than green grass, but let's talk about the greens. They were RIDDLED with unrepaired ball marks, skids, dead areas, etc. The fairways had probably 3 different types of grass, but that's if there actually WAS grass. The 6th hole was closed due to weather (understandable) but that little crap par 3 that they have in lieu of that wasn't even worth the time.I do not know how in the heck they get away with charging the amount of money that they do! Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this track- it's truly a rip-off. I will NEVER waste my time playing Westwood ever again!
DO NOT GOLF HERE
Probably the worst golf course in NJ. Rude staff, pro shop worker, starter, ranger. All of them. specifically Matt, who is constantly rude and makes up rules whenever they seem convenient to him. Course is in despicable shape and the pricing makes absolutely no sense. Will not be returning and I'd recommend looking at other courses for you too, every other course in a 50 mile radius is a better deal, in better condition, and has SIGNIFICANTLY more pleasant staff.
Don’t play here ever
Easily the worst golf experience I’ve ever had. Every staff member was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful for no reason. The guy that checked us in, the starter, and ranger all must hate their life because they take it out on anyone that plays golf there. Pace of play was awful, took us 6 hours to finish the round of golf. It felt like every green was hidden and the person that designed the course layout should go to jail. Even with using the layout on 18 birdies, there was several times I couldn’t tell where to hit my ball. Greens are bad, tee boxes as well, and maybe one hole had a paved cart path. Oh and it is ridiculously overpriced. I’d rather play a round of Wii golf than going back to this course.
Wet Day
We got 2 holes in and got cancelled due to lightning. No refund since it was a hotdeal! Thats twice this year that course was closed and didnt get credit. Last summer using golf now!
Nice layout. Looks like the greens were aerated a week or two ago so they still were a little bumpy. Rest of the course was in fine condition
Come here for a 6 hour round
Walked off the course after 13 hole. Super slow. Greens were in rough shape. Most holes didn’t have grass around the greens to chip. Brutal.
Rained out
Started playing got done 2 holes and course was closed due to lightning n thunder.no rain check since it was a hot deal????
A good place to play
I'm never disappointed playing at Westwood. The greens were in nice shape, despite the ball marks left by golfers who dont see the need to repair their damage. The ball sits down often in & out of the fairway, but thats the nature of NJ golf. It's worth the trip over the bridge from Pa.
Very nice
Course is in great shape. Ranger could have been bit more aggressive moving pace of play. Overall great day of golf
Westwood golf club (west deptford)
Course is in good shape. Fairways, roughs and greens are very well mowed and maintained. The front nine is easy and then the back nine has great elevation change and more of a moderate challenge.
First time playing here
Very tight some holes but nice layout.
Greens were moving , try and be below the pin
Review
This place has turned around 180°. The greens are true. The fairways are close to perfect. A great tract

don't let that bad experience at Westwood skew your opinion of GN... I have been using it for years and use it all the time down in Georgia. Their customer service is great, but unfortunately, sounds like Westwood dropped the ball by exhibiting their HORRIBLE customer service!
