Fox Hollow Golf Club
About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Views outstanding
Greens are fair with undulations and side hill cups. Fairways wide open so you can enjoy the beautiful views. Wildlife throughout. Up and down hill lies makes for some interesting shots. Bunkers are clean and and well kept. Will play agai
Fox hollow
The course was in great condition
Unfortunately we got placed within a scramble event played by a bunch of hackers
Will definitely go back and play it under normal playing conditions
A memorable gem!
I had been hearing great thingd about Fox Hollow for years from my corporate friends. They did not suffer from hyperbole. The course is gorgeous. The topography takes your breath away. It seems that every tee shot and every approach shot is either up a hill or down a hill or across a valley. The course is extremely fair. The greens are impeccable and large and canted from back to front so you have a lot of breaking putts all day long. I felt extremely fortunate to be able to play a course of this quality at the Amazing Race allowed by GolfNow. I will add this course to my regular rota and only regret that I am now 60 years old and only have another 30 years do enjoy it!
Every hole has a different character
We played after heavy rain and is cart path only. The greens and fairways are soaked heavily with water. The green fee is reasonable. However you should take into account the driving distance.I drove 90 miles(round trip) to the golf course and too much traffic on our way back home..
Hidden gem
Great value. Great variety of holes. Difficult but a fair amount of room for slices/pulls.
mother's day special
Got a deal for mother's day $50 for fee and cart at noon. Nice day great looking course and free replay so we walked second time.
Not worth the money.
Course is way overpriced. $85.00 for a 2pm tee time. I would have trouble paying half that for this average layout. Rough is 6 inches deep, nearly inpossible to find a ball. Goofy layout with many tricked up holes.
STUCK!!!!
This course is on the expensive side but i always wanted to play here.
i finally found a good deal and booked it.
when i arrived at the course i was shock that there was big outing going on.
The outing was shotgun start and the staff stuck us right in between the group.
It was a horrible long day for me.
course was in pretty good shape but they should not have offered us that tee time.
Course was in good shape, not too busy on a weekday afternoon.
Staff wasn't friendly and no greetings. Feel a bit cheated as we paid $60 each to play on a weekday afternoon as the advertised GolfNow price, but when we paid at the course it was $90 each. $30 each ($60) for one cart was a bit excessive when several holes were cart path only.
Very hilly course. Not easy to walk.
A little disappointed in the course conditions. I felt that Golf Now should have notified us that the course was recently aerified. Flooding must've effected this course because several holes were full of mud. Course was very empty so we got to play at our own pace. Course is very hilly making it difficult to walk. No water on the course so you are at the cart girl's mercy.
Pretty course layout
Went there with high hopes of enjoying the course as I was playing this course for the first time. When I got to the course, they told me that the back nine is closed due to aeration and the front nine was aerated but playable. What???!!! Aren't they (either the course or Golfnow) supposed to let people know about this at the time of booking? Went with high hopes but came back with a big disappointment. Not fair and not right. The course layout was pretty (at least the first nine holes). The greens are slopes and seem challenging but had holes and sand all over. They should have either closed the course or let people know at the time of booking. Disappointed. Would recommend this course to a friend under normal condition and 18 holes of playing.
Beautiful and challenging layout ... near country club conditions
We were concerned about course with 6 par 3's but the course neither lacks character nor seems "under nourished" due to the lack of 2 par 4's on the card. Each hole offers different challenges and the smaller than average greens bring into play more of the hazards. Highly recommended!
VERY hilly
The course was in pretty good shape (greens were great, but the fairway on a few holes needed work), but beware! The course is extremely hilly. I'm sure if you play this course enough, you could figure out where the flat spots are. However, being a first timer on this course, it was one side/down/up-hill lie after another. If you are accustomed to playing on mostly flat courses with gentle elevation changes, this course will be challenging.
The course was practically empty for a Saturday morning. Our foursome ran into mostly twosomes. So, the pace of play was good. The amenities at this course were great. Driving range, putting green, pro shop and restaurant (full service with a real menu, NOT a "coffee shop" with just hot dogs and burgers). All in all, not a bad experience, but the price is a bit steep at $107 each. Neshanic Valley is a better value...if you can get on and done mind a slower pace of play!
Excellent course for a great value
This course is very well maintained and always in good condition. There are a vareity of holes with layouts that offer different challenges for an kind of golfer. The Golfnow price, which includes cart and green fees, can't be beat.
Excellent condition. KILLER rough!
Very nice course in excellent condition. Perhaps due to the recent rain, but the rough was US Open style & extremely challenging for a non-PGA event!
This course is ver good
Hilly. Greens are always in higher level . A lot bunkers surround the greens. It is good to play this course.
More Par 3 s than normal courses. There 6 of them.
Over Priced
Honestly, this course is over priced. $70 green fees, $30 per person to rent cart (cart was not included with golfnow rate), and no push carts available (some long holes/hilly) so don't recommend walking.
Walk in rate and golf now rate are the exact same price, no bargain here. No replays as well unless you want to spend another $100...
Go play Neshanic instead...extremely disappointed with their services
Great Layout, well maintained.
Good course, challenging layout.
The greens need a little work.
Expensive; Going Downhill
A classic example of a nice layout starved for money. Inadequate staff and resources for a course charging $100 plus (with cart).
Greens were aerated last week so it was tough to putt. Severe elevation changes make walking difficult. There are much better values and much better service at other courses.
