About
Fox Hollow Golf Course in Somerville sprawls across acres of rolling woodlands, offering dramatic elevation changes throughout the par-70 layout. Designed by local designer Hal Purdy, the abundant trees and hilly terrain have been deftly incorporated into the course. Originally built in 1967, the golf course was completely redesigned in 2000 to make it more challenging while at the same time improving its playability. Since its renovation, it has garnered a local following but it is still one of the better kept secrets of Somerset County, making it likely that golfers will be able to play the golf course regardless of the day or time. In addition to the course, there is also a practice facility with a grass driving range, a bunkered practice green, and an expansive putting green. One reason Fox Hollow G.C. is a popular choice, besides the enjoyable layout, is the affordability it offers.

Great Layout - Still in Good Shape
The course is still in good shape - fast greens and good looking fairways. The pace was below average, though. We had a foursome on front of us who spent 10 minutes on each green. We told the Ranger on the 7th hole and it didn't help. It's still worth it for the money, though.
Expensive - Poor condition
I was excited to play there expecting a top notch course for that price. Very disappointed with the course and pace of play. Ballmarks all over the greens, fairways in poor condition, tee boxes were very beat up and not level. We were asked how the pace of play was and we said very slow and they didn't do anything about it. Why ask? Over 5 hours to play a round.

Nice course, good layout but overpriced
Played this course as a foursome with a Saturday 1:00 tee time and the pace of play was good (4:15 min round). Our group were all 10-12 handicaps. Course conditions were average with well maintained greens and fairways but a few of the tee boxes needed work. We got a great deal on golf now for $60/player when the average cost on a Saturday afternoon is $100 per player, which I feel is overpriced a bit. Overalll I would recommend trying it out at least once.
In rough shape
This course used to be one of the nicer ones in the areas but it has seen better days. You can play nicer kept courses for a cheaper price.
Fox Hollow
Nice course, challenging yet fair, friendly staff who were very flexible as we were running late for our t-time. Enjoyed our round, cart girl was nice, and ranger too
Great Course and Layout
Terrible pace over 5hr+. Should not be a 8 minute tee time. Everything else was excellent.
Tricky greens
I’ve played her numerous times and the thing that stands out the most are the tricky greens.
Some of them are on the small side and most have undulations. Being a good putter is critical on this course.
Some of the fairways are sloped also which leave you with lies where the ball is above or below your feet.
The course is well maintained.
It’s a little pricy to play here but well worth it if you’re looking for a challenge.
I wouldn’t recommend this course to a beginner but if you’re an experienced golfer it’s worth trying.

First time at Fox hollow in a couple of years.
