Wedgewood Country Club in Turnersville is one of the most popular public golf courses in the Tri-State area. It offers an upscale atmosphere with a traditional layout that pays homage to Philadelphia's most prestigious and renowned private courses. The course is like playing two in one with a front nine that is spacious and open while the back nine is much tighter and more heavily tree lined. The entire Wedgewood layout sprawls across gentle undulating terrain, providing subtle breaks throughout that will test your skills. There are two holes that are particularly memorable, the 13th, one of the toughest par 4s in the area, and the 17th, a tough par 5. The 13th is a lengthy par 4 that requires a second shot over water with a long club to a difficult target. Wedgewood Country Club's penultimate hole demands accuracy with an uphill drive through a chute.

Good Day of Golf for Dec. 2, 2021

T-time was 8am. Was not very busy. Considering it is early Dec, conditions were decent. The greens looked recently recovered from aireating, putts generally rolled nice but slow due to damp winter thawing conditions. Noticed many greens had un-recovered burnt areas here and there, but not terrible. Speed improved somewhat as they dried. Fairways were average. T boxes were mostly temporary-shorter locations. Would have been nice if they were at least mowed short to mimic a proper T box. The longer length of the course mostly made up for shortness in T box location in my opinion. Sand traps typical for this time of year, not very well raked, but ok sand. Lots of leaves in certain locations-lost some balls as a result. Some areas were not blown yet, some were. Overall, I liked the course layout, and conditions were acceptable for the time of year. Had a decent meatball sangwich and beer after our round. The bartender was nice, but bare bones choices for food. I'd like to come back when the weaather is better. We took advantage of a hot deal, so it was a bargain rate.

Excellent surprise!!

Have played a number of courses in south Jersey and have been wanting to play Wedgewood. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a great course…in good condition…narrow fairways…challenging greens. I will definitely be back!!

Nice fall track

Plenty of tall oak's to make you adjust your shots. Length with the narrow fairways made it an enjoyable morning. Greens are just about recovered from the fall aeration, but the puts still rolled out.

9/27/2021 Review

Good layout with a mix of interesting holes. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in nice shape. The sand traps were ok except for a lot of small stones on the edges. I’d definitely play here again.

6 hour round of golf that should have been 4hr. No ranger, people jumping around holes wherever they want. Won’t be back here anytime soon

Wouldn’t go back.

The staff was incredibly rude and not helpful with our questions on the course. We asked to use the bathroom after playing but because they closed at 7 and it was just about 7, he would not let us. Just overall, rude staff, subpar course, overpriced.

They need some time to figure out what they're doing here.

Let me start by saying a midday round here costs $59. I booked a Sunday afternoon. I checked in at the pro shop, and was handed a cart key, and pointed in the direction of where I could collect a score sheet. This was the only employee I saw the entire time I was here. No cart attendants, no starter, no ranger. Cart was not clean, I found tees, trash, and 5 pencils. When I booked, the website said I was with 3 others.

Well with no starter around I waited, and no one showed up. I teed off behind 2 players, who were behind a foursome. Play was slow. The bunkers were horrendous. The tee boxes are in bad shape as well. Greens were aerated which is understandable, but there's no mention of it on the website, or while booking. The fairways were ok, but missing the fairway gave you lots of scenarios. Rocks, dirt, muddy areas, and if you did find grass - it was crab grass. I picked my ball out of puddles in the bunkers, fought geese on multiple holes, and lost count of how many times my ball landed in, or I was forced to take my stance in goose crap.

As bad as that was, by far the absolute WORST part of my round, was the gps units in the carts. Most annoying and non useful thing ever. They show how far you are to the center of the green. That's it. You can't adjust anything based on pin placement, or check distance to any other point on the hole. The one thing they are good for, is making noise. On the cart path, in the rough, in the fairway. Doesn't matter. Random notifications on the screen that don't stop, and oh, cover up the yardage which is the only usable function! The cart was sitting still on many different occasions, and when I went to take a shot, a loud beep. What's that? I need to move the cart because it's "in a wet area, move to the right?" I was in the fairway. The right was rough...what? On top of that, I don't need you advertising your bar every other hole either. I understand letting people know they're too close to a green, or a hole is cart path only etc makes sense (keep in mind at least HALF the holes on this course are cart path only) but the whole course is covered in these "geofences" that don't make any sense. There's no physical markers anywhere indicating that your cart is about to give you a migraine if you drive there.

To sum up, I would not recommend playing here unless one of two circumstances occur. Either you just walk on and play for free (since there's no one there to stop you anyway) or they get real and start charging less than $25. After all there's 3 courses within 30min of here that are charging half or less, with similar or better conditions for the same tee time.

Enjoy your round.
