Ron Jaworski's RiverWinds Golf & Tennis Club

About
Ron Jaworski’s Riverwinds Golf & Tennis Club is situated along a scenic stretch of grassland between the banks of the Woodbury Creek and the deep harbor marina on the Delaware River. Its location gives it the feel of traditional seaside links courses found in Scotland and Ireland, which is further enforced by the sod-wall bunkers that lurk near the greens. The layout features plenty of water and incorporates the surrounding wetlands as well. One unique feature of the golf course is that the routing winds across a mile-long twisting burn, creating a visually interesting setting. Riverwinds begins with a gentle, mostly flat front nine but the mounding becomes more aggressive as you move onto the back. All of the holes face a different direction, which means you’ll most likely be using all the clubs in your bag to tackle the crosswinds and rugged terrain.

Best Public Golf near Philly
We have tried them all andRiverWinds is the best. Great golf experience.
Riverwinds do better
I understand that aereating the greens is part of maintaining the course and it has to be done. That being said how about a discount for a week or two after that happens? $125 was definitely not worth it. Also they had rangers out but were not really doing anything? Front 9 was fine, the back we were waiting for the group in front of us on every hole. 4 hour and 40 minutes is not terrible but it could have been better.
Incorrect charge
I never played this course and they still charged me a 2 man course play after canceling on golf now. Either golfnow or this course has to figure out what’s going on.
Great Course
I love this course. We got a good deal online. It’s a shame this course is so expensive regularly. I would play it once a week if it was more affordable. It’s kind of a funky layout and could use more signage to direct you to the next hole. Cart girl was miserable (we were very respectful and tipped well; didn’t change anything). This course is challenging but gives you a chance. It’s pretty open. My tee shot looks like a boomerang and I was still able to find my ball and have a decent second shot. Hole 17 is a gem and worth the price of admission. The golf carts were in good shape and did not have gps nagging you all day. The Marshalls were vigilant and personable. I hated that the golf cart holds the rake. Some of the bunkers require a decent walk because of cart restrictions. You’re expected to bring the rake with you. Hit out of the bunker, rake, go to the green and then make sure the rake makes it back on the cart; not the end of the world, just not ideal imo. If you’re a scenery person; this is the course for you. The rolling hills, elevations, and the river create some of the most scenic views/holes in the area; maybe even the state. Course conditions were fantastic. Kudos to the grounds crew. The greens were a little slower than normal but that’s just because of the weather we have had.
Course condition
Besides the tee boxes needing a little TLC the fairways and greens were in great condition..We paid $80.00 for 2pm tee time. and it was definitely worth it, $125.00 is a little steep in my opinion but definitely worth $80.00
great course but still needs maintaining
course is great and much easier than when it opened. Thanks jaws...
tee boxes need work and so many ball marks go unfixed. overall, i always wait for a deal to get on this course because the reduced rate makes the two complaints above erroneous.
Over priced
This is definitely not my first time playing here. I played this course many times. And I have to say how disappointing it was to see the condition of the greens and Tee boxes this way. No way they should be charging the money to play the course in that kind of condition. Save your money. What a dif6a year makes.
Course in great shape
Course was in great shape, I just hope people would buy a divot tool to repair ball marks on greens. It’s not that difficult.
great layout and course was in good condition. No complaints other then the high green fees. Soif you wanna play a fun course that's in good shape and money isn't an issue then this course should be on your list.
