Marysville Golf Club
About
Marysville Golf Club has been one of the most popular public golfing options in the area since it opened as a nine-hole course in 1932. A second nine was added in the 70s, completing the layout as it exists today. Save for a few mild undulations the course is mostly flat, providing an enjoyable walk. The fast bentgrass greens provide a good opportunity to use your short game skills. There are a few small ponds that come into play as well as a meandering stream. While there isn't a plentiful amount of bunkers there are enough strategically placed throughout to provide a fair challenge. Marysville Golf Club is not overly difficult but the versatile layout has a playability that will appeal to players of all skill levels.

A hot one in Marysville
Arriving At Marysville GC around 10am most of the Carts were on the course and I am sure everyone was beating the heat. When we wrapped up around 2 most of all those carts were in and the lot almost emptied. The course is in immaculate shape and greens rilling nicely. Some traps in need of attention, but did not inhibit our play. The trash cans did need some attention from the morning and possibly weekend. The staff was very cordial and allowed us to head out prior to our T time. Pace of play for our 3 some was perfect... truly enjoyed the day even though it got well into 90 degrees.
Great for the price
I've played this course for decades. The course itself is well maintained. The exceptions to this are that a few bunkers seem to have turned into waste bunkers with little to no sand and the cart paths need to be leveled. As for the bunkers, I did see a pile of fresh sand yet to be dispersed around the course so there's hope. On the other hand, nobody has done anything about the cart paths in years and it's pitted enough to hurt my back. If they fixed these 2 things and had a more full service pro shop, it would be my pick for the best course in the Marysville area.
Descent
Good day, descent course.. very slow play, the stack up.. other than that staff good service good..
Great for the money, needs a little TLC and they can charge more
You really can’t beat the value here as the course provides a fun layout and decently maintained. Bunkers need to be straightened out but overall solid course. Clubhouse has all the refreshments or grub you would need to get you through the round. Probably could have played the entire round in three hours if not for the slow pace of play as there was nobody going around to keep the pace up. I’d give this course a B simply due to the value and layout.
Cart paths are the only negative
Greens are consistently good. The cart paths are awful. That is all.
Slow play
Pretty well kept course . Seemed like the course was over booked and caused a long day of delays.
Terrible
They were mowing the fairways around 2pm, most of the fairways had grass clippings covered, grass was terrible. Greens were in good shape. Sand traps didn’t have any sand in them.
Everything other than the greens were terrible.
How does this place get 4 star reviews?
This place is a joke. What a waste of a Holiday weekend to come out here. I saw the 4 star reviews and thought we were getting a deal. When we showed up we quickly found out the deal was more like a bait and switch. There were clumps of grass in the fairways that were about the size of hay bails. Lost balls on fairway shouts if your ball went into the clumps of grass. Tee boxes were not cut, greens were slow and probably not cut in days. Dead trees everywhere. Cart paths were so bad it was just better to drive in the grass. One bridge was out of service, so you just drive right through the swamp to get to the next hole. There should be a minimum standard to have a golf course listed on GolfNow. Years ago this used to be a great little course.
Abandon golf course
This used to be a really nice course. Played it 3 years ago and it was on a down hill slide. When I showed up today I honestly thought the course was abandon if it hadn't been for the cars in the lot. There's siding missing on the club house, pot holes and grown over bushes, and we haven't even got to the first hole yet. All tee boxes were grown over and the only thing that told you it was a tee box was the blocks. The fairways had huge clumps of grass and if you missed the fairway by a foot you were in US open style rough. The greens were slow because they haven't been mowed in probably 4 days. All bunkers were filled with dirt and grass, and for the most part unplayable. In fact the course itself was borderline playable. Dead trees and branches around the greens. I could go on.
Waste of a holiday weekend to play this course. Golf Now should have a minimum standard for the courses they sell. And the reviews of this place are way off.
Wrong address
The course was not worth the $35.00 I paid. The address linked to the map on golf now is also not correct. It took me to a wrong location and I was almost late. I had to physically google the course to get the correct address and locate the course.
