Marysville Golf Club
About
Marysville Golf Club has been one of the most popular public golfing options in the area since it opened as a nine-hole course in 1932. A second nine was added in the 70s, completing the layout as it exists today. Save for a few mild undulations the course is mostly flat, providing an enjoyable walk. The fast bentgrass greens provide a good opportunity to use your short game skills. There are a few small ponds that come into play as well as a meandering stream. While there isn't a plentiful amount of bunkers there are enough strategically placed throughout to provide a fair challenge. Marysville Golf Club is not overly difficult but the versatile layout has a playability that will appeal to players of all skill levels.

Slow play
Pretty well kept course . Seemed like the course was over booked and caused a long day of delays.
Terrible
They were mowing the fairways around 2pm, most of the fairways had grass clippings covered, grass was terrible. Greens were in good shape. Sand traps didn’t have any sand in them.
Everything other than the greens were terrible.
How does this place get 4 star reviews?
This place is a joke. What a waste of a Holiday weekend to come out here. I saw the 4 star reviews and thought we were getting a deal. When we showed up we quickly found out the deal was more like a bait and switch. There were clumps of grass in the fairways that were about the size of hay bails. Lost balls on fairway shouts if your ball went into the clumps of grass. Tee boxes were not cut, greens were slow and probably not cut in days. Dead trees everywhere. Cart paths were so bad it was just better to drive in the grass. One bridge was out of service, so you just drive right through the swamp to get to the next hole. There should be a minimum standard to have a golf course listed on GolfNow. Years ago this used to be a great little course.
Abandon golf course
This used to be a really nice course. Played it 3 years ago and it was on a down hill slide. When I showed up today I honestly thought the course was abandon if it hadn't been for the cars in the lot. There's siding missing on the club house, pot holes and grown over bushes, and we haven't even got to the first hole yet. All tee boxes were grown over and the only thing that told you it was a tee box was the blocks. The fairways had huge clumps of grass and if you missed the fairway by a foot you were in US open style rough. The greens were slow because they haven't been mowed in probably 4 days. All bunkers were filled with dirt and grass, and for the most part unplayable. In fact the course itself was borderline playable. Dead trees and branches around the greens. I could go on.
Waste of a holiday weekend to play this course. Golf Now should have a minimum standard for the courses they sell. And the reviews of this place are way off.
Wrong address
The course was not worth the $35.00 I paid. The address linked to the map on golf now is also not correct. It took me to a wrong location and I was almost late. I had to physically google the course to get the correct address and locate the course.
Very safe environment
upon arriving just had to give name at a distance. Told keys were in the carts and saw carts being cleaned well. A very safe experience for all!
Marysville GC did not disappoint!
On a cool day in May playing with my step bro n law, we enjoyed a very well maintained Marysville GC. The only exceptions are the traps are unplayable ( what public courses in central Ohio have playable traps?) and the cart paths are beyond bad, BUT the actual course and greens are in great shape and that is why we came here. The par 3’s can be BIG BOY par 3’s typically having elevation and distance to overcome. Layout is not cookie cutter and can test your abilities. The course is adhering to the VIRUS recommendation. Had a great day here and strongly recommend a look see by any...
Very well taken care of
Very well taken care of... even after days of rain the course was dry and good to go
No up keep
Terribly ran.. has rained so much lately but the guy running the club house wasn’t telling golfers to keep cart path only. The course was getting torn up!
Outside of the the grass was so tall the fairway seems like the rough..
Sand traps are little ponds with weeds growing out of them.
I will not be golfing at this course until they figure things out.
Not good golf for the price
I wanted to fit in a quick 18 holes today and I normally play Public courses like Darby and Glen Ross. I was taken back as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. The build and course looked run down from first glance. That didn’t leave a good impression but I figured I would play it since it was too late to cancel my tee time with out being charged for it. The course conditions are not consistent at all. The greens are very slow, which isn’t a surprise because most lower priced green fee courses are. The course layout was horrible. The hole layout can be confusing if you haven’t played it before and some of the par 4s are designed very poorly. If you are the kind of person that just goes out to hit the ball around and have a few beers With your buddies, this course isn’t that bad. But if you take golf seriously and want to shoot a good round on a course that is consistent, I would go else where. It is definitely not worst the 30 dollar greens fee for 18.
Pretty good!
This course had nice greens with good speed to them. Pace of play was excellent on a Saturday afternoon, and the staff was very friendly. The layout is a little weird with a lot of dogleg par 4’s and few par 5’s. I had no complaints. Course does have a lot of ball marks on the greens. I tried to fix as many as I could. I think it’s less of a golf course staff issue and more of the actual players being lazy. I liked it here overall.
