Great course
I played here several years ago and it was in bad shape. They fixed the course, cart paths, and clubhouse. Great place to play!!
All is OK
It was ok. The Fairways had just been aerated. I played as a single, with a nice man my age off the senior tees. Our partners were young and showed up as we just finished teeing off. They were all over the place with their shots. The Ranger was nice and said that if we wanted we could go on without them Which we did, after 4 holes played through on a foursome and never saw any golfers after that. It was nice.
Day out
Course has done alot and is coming along very well! Pace is bit slow but busy. Course itself is still dicey but coming along. Their focus seems non golf first . Golf course last fix it seems but the finished cart path and off course buildings are awesome! Definitely be back.
Are they done with the repairs?
The course has been improving but it's become rough. The greens were damaged by multiple factors, the fairways were inconsistent. Slow pace of play still. Where the Marshall?
water
the golf course itself is absolutely beautiful..the only problem I have, and it's a real concern, is that on a real hot day, they have NO WATER ON THE GOLF COURSE, NO CART PERSON DRIVING AROUND, WITH ONLY 2 TIMES HAVING ACCESS TO HALFWAY HOUSE.
Here's the kicker, NO COOLERS!!!! I can see if someone is bringing a cooler full of beer but allow coolers with water only.
I hope someone doesn't pass out or get sick because of this silly rule.
I love this place but may have to play in April and October only!
Good Fun Course
Course is in Good shape. They are doing maintenance to a few tee boxes. Plus repaying a few holes. Not really an issue.
Golf staff needs to work on their customer service . They didn’t help with unloading bags or even putting them on the cart. Yet two young men sat at the starters stand and didn’t move.
Snack and bar staff was excellent. Well maintained grounds including parking lot.
Much Improved but one problem remains....
The owners put a ton of money into Pinelands and made many significant improvements. A nice layout (Palmer had a hand in it) and the tee boxes, fairways and greens are in great shape. But there is one major problem. Pace of play. While I saw a Ranger driving around he apparently was too shy about telling slower groups to speed it up. According to the time card placed on our cart we made the turn 30 minutes behind schedule. Not surprisingly, after 18 we were a full hour behind schedule, so a more than 5 hour round. This is unacceptable. Full disclosure, our tee time was 11 am on a Sunday. So we expected the course to be filled. Even so, what use is a Ranger or a time card with your start, turn and finish times clearly listed, if these times are not adhered to? This should be an easy fix for the staff. As long as the start time is correct any Ranger with a wristwatch can see if any group is behind pace. But then they must ACT. Please fix this and you'll have one of the best tracks (value for money) in South Jersey.
Disappointed
We've played Pinelands several times since ownership changed. They're clearly putting effort in, but some greens were damaged and one was totally shut down. In the interest of respectful disclosure, I think these announcements should be made before tee times are confirmed. Better to temporarily lose some rounds than to leave a bad taste in players' mouths. I'm not in a hurry to return...
Slow but great
Course was great. Love the layout. Wildlife all over to see. Greens in good shape for the time of year. Only issue which I’ve read about this place is the pace is so slow. Over 5 hours for the round. Lastly they need some food ready like hotdogs. They are made to order and take way too long.
Under Repair
Slow play, golf zombies talking, yelling, phones and music plus major work being done really made for a below average day.
Pinelands Golf Club in Hammonton
We were staying in AC for a couple of days and wanted to play some of the courses nearby. This is a wonderful gem halfway between Atlantic City and Philadelphia. They run the times like a military operation. They post a card in your golfcart that shows the time your start, the time you should be starting the back nine, and the time you should be finishing your round. This works great and should be used by every golf course out there. The fairways and greens are well kept as are the tee boxes. They have a range, a putting green, and chipping area. They also have a practice bunker with real sand which is hard to find in north jersey, we appreciate it. Staff is very helpful. Bathrooms instead of port-o-johns out on the course. Played the hole well on The Valley of Death hole so named by the great Jack Nicklaus. We will play here again when in the area.
Getting better
You can see the love and attention these new owners are putting in. Great buildings new cart paths and signage. Greens were true albeit a little slow. Fairways were in good shape. There were some things that were being repaired etc but all in all a great spot to play. Wish them continued success and appreciate the friendliness off the staff
Amazing course!
This place is awesome! Course was great, staff were friendly, conditions were great, and overall experience was fantastic! After my round I went to the restaurant inside and was amazed at how good my food was! The crabcake sandwich was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Will definitely be back, just a bit of a hike from where I live. :)
Staff
Staff are a bunch of miserable humans who take there job way to seriously
Great course,
Great course and layout, pace of play sucked due to a 4 group 4 man scramble that yelled fore more times than I’ve ever heard. Hope to go back again.
