Really Enjoyed
I have played almost all the courses in Southern NJ I enjoyed the course and would give it the highest value for the dollar in Southern NJ
Very good course
I have been playing this course for a couple years now. The course is completely wooded. The owner has invested a lot into course improvements such as the greens, tee boxes, turf, cart paths. As a result, the conditions are outstanding. The staff is very friendly. As a senior player, I found the course length from the gold tees to be too long for many seniors, especially on the tighter holes. If you don’t hit long, straight drives, you will have a hard time getting on in regulation and the greens are very challenging. This course is more difficult than most that I play.
Work in Progress
Considerable money appears to have been spent to upgrade the course conditions and after-round amenities. Significant areas have been resodded but some areas did not take. New hole signs list hole number but no yardage (refer to scorecard). No water available on course and no cart girl for 90 degree day. Restaurant after round mimics ski lodge/hunting cabin and is nice way to unwind after the round.
Slow play
No accommodation for handicap players. I needed a separate cart for medical reasons, but they refused, despite the fact there were only of two of us in our tee time. The pace of play was extremely slow with ten minute gaps between tee times. Played in almost five hours.
In town visiting
Was in town visiting for a soccer tournament and played this course at an early tee time. Paired up with some great guys who had told me that this course used to be a dog track. Far from it anymore. The course was in tip top shape tee to green. Great layout with a mix of challenging and easy holes.
Great Condition
The course is in really good condition, except for the two bunkers that I was in. There was a thin layer of sand on top of hard ground, so neither bunker shot came out well.
You definitely need to keep your drives between the trees in order to score well here. I will definitely be back.
Good publiccourse
Everything went well - staff were very nice, course in good condition and changes made were well received.
No redeeming qualities
I have played this course many times. But I am not convinced new ownership is making proper improvements. Hate no carts in parking lot. Hate no outside drinks( not even water or soda?!). Price is too high. Pace of play is too slow. I go to golf courses to play golf- not for food/drinking/banquet/wedding- but for GOLF. I will not be returning.
Constantly Improving!
Place was bought about 4 yrs ago. It’s within 20 min of where I live. I’ve played 3-4 times and each time the course is getting better. Visually and physically. The food is fantastic! Bathrooms are new and incredibly clean. This place is going to pop off soon! Only thing that is lacking is a cart girl or two. That’s it. Overall, it’s just plain fun!
Lots of improvements on the course greens and tee boxes are nice
Big improvement, the last two times I played there not one tee box was open
Hidden gem
$42 on GN hot deal is a steal here! Place was way better than I expected. Greens kinda slow but otherwise it’s a gem
