About
Vernon View Golf Course (formerly known as Hiawatha Golf Course) is a public, 18-hole course located in Mount Vernon. The course is set amongst the rolling hills of Knox County, surrounded by acres of lush countryside. Like many other courses in central Ohio, this course was designed by local architect Jack Kidwell although it has undergone several changes in its design since opening in 1962. Creeks meander through the tall stands of trees that have matured nicely since their original planting during the construction of the golf course. The landscape is also dotted with several lakes, which come into play on a number of holes. There is also the occasional bunker to watch out for. Vernon View Golf Course has been owned and operated by the same family since it opened, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere that is perfect for outings and tournaments.

Fun little track with a caveat
I played this course for free using golf pass points and tee time credits, so for me, the value was awesome. I would've paid the $25 despite that though and felt good about the value.
The course is fun to play. There's a ough straight holes mixed with a touch of undulation, blind shots, and dog legs to keep things interesting. The one caveat is this is a hardhat course. There are several tee boxes and holes right next to greens and play areas that will keep your head on a swivel. Aside from that, you get what you pay for. The greens were punched for aeration, which I found weird for this time of year. Seems early, especially since they were almost grown back in a lot of places. They are losing their fairways in a bunch of places, and there's barely any cart paths (stones or dirt/grass). One thing that was nice was almost all the tee boxes were flat except 1. We played the tips.
Overall, I'd play again, but just know it's not the 4 star course the rating suggests.
Nice course for the money
I got a good deal on GolfNow (18 with a cart for $25), and it was well worth it, as I really enjoyed this course. It was in excellent condition, has a nice layout, and a nice mixture of holes on which you can score with a few challenging holes mixed in. Will be back!
Course was very nice , greens fast in great shape. Haven't played there in a long time miss a lot of the trees that were removed .
Great staff
This is a course that is making great efforts for improvement. The greens are always in great shape. All the staff are friendly and helpful. This is our go-to course in the area.

Hard to rate.
This course was holding water compared to other bone dry courses, so that was a positive, was nice to see green grass!
Layout was a little quirky, as you’re next tee box is right beside other greens, fairly frustrating to be hit into by accident.
Most of the trees have been demolished, not sure intentional or by storms.
The course was in good shape, greens and tee boxes were in better shape than most course around central Ohio.
