About
Vernon View Golf Course (formerly known as Hiawatha Golf Course) is a public, 18-hole course located in Mount Vernon. The course is set amongst the rolling hills of Knox County, surrounded by acres of lush countryside. Like many other courses in central Ohio, this course was designed by local architect Jack Kidwell although it has undergone several changes in its design since opening in 1962. Creeks meander through the tall stands of trees that have matured nicely since their original planting during the construction of the golf course. The landscape is also dotted with several lakes, which come into play on a number of holes. There is also the occasional bunker to watch out for. Vernon View Golf Course has been owned and operated by the same family since it opened, providing a warm and friendly atmosphere that is perfect for outings and tournaments.

Course was very nice , greens fast in great shape. Haven't played there in a long time miss a lot of the trees that were removed .
Great staff
This is a course that is making great efforts for improvement. The greens are always in great shape. All the staff are friendly and helpful. This is our go-to course in the area.
Will play here again
Hard to rate.
This course was holding water compared to other bone dry courses, so that was a positive, was nice to see green grass!
Layout was a little quirky, as you’re next tee box is right beside other greens, fairly frustrating to be hit into by accident.
Most of the trees have been demolished, not sure intentional or by storms.
The course was in good shape, greens and tee boxes were in better shape than most course around central Ohio.
Really like the course design.
We liked this course a lot, the fairways were spacious but penalized you for missing them with water or links heighth foliage. The course was well kept and if there was one complaint it would be to build better cart paths. We would recommend this course.
Still Getting Better
This course is the old Hiawatha. It went through a rough few years, however the new owners have put a lot of work into it and it is shaping up nicely. The greens are in great shape and the layout. Is fun.
Nice course
Course was challenging, well maintained & still being improved. Nice new clubhouse. We will play again.
