This is hidden gem of a course.
This course is beautifully designed. I really enjoyed it. I would say the front nine is most challenging out of the 18 holes especially if you play from blue/ gold tees.
There were a couple of negatives that I would be remiss if not to mention.
The club house doesn't match the quality of the course and was limited on what they offered.
I played during the middle of the week and there seemed to be a lot of walkers on the course which slowed played down. There was no ranger monitoring play either.
Finally, there were a few holes where the greens had some patches to putt over but all in all excellent.
I really enjoyed the course and would recommend and play again but I give the course a solid 4 1/2 stars.

Great course, fast greens.
Overall a really great course and interesting layout. The fairways being bent grass is pretty rare for the area but they were in really nice condition. Some of the best greens I have pitted so far this year. What a great day and a great round!

Quite surprised
Booked this on a whim based on lack of tee times at my normal courses I play. Driving to the course I was a bit skeptical due to the areas you go through to get there, but was quite surprised when I pulled up into the parking lot. The lot sits on top the hill over looking the back 9 of the course. The view with the fall leaf colors stood out. The course conditions itself were very good considering it is early November and we’ve had quite a bit of rain recently. Fairways were well maintained and the greens did show signs were they were recently aerated but were filling in nicely. They rolled quite true despite this. The layout was challenging and only found 2 holes my group and myself thought were just plain and kinda boring. The others were all about placement. Overall, I would definitely recommend playing this course and will definitely be back to play a few more times.

The Legend of Oak Shadows
Unbelievable course. Unlike anything I’ve ever seen in Ohio. The best maintained course I’ve seen all year. And it’s November. Will definitely be back. Gonna tell my great great great grandkids about this one.

Great time!
3pm tee time on a October Saturday beautiful 75°F sunny afternoon. Was able to play 18 in 3 hours as a solo. Was worried about the course being mushy/wet with rain the last two days but dried up very nicely, only a few wet spots. Course was in great condition. The only negative was the greens being aerated but it's that time of year and it prevented me from blowing putts way past the hole.

Beautiful course
I thought the course was beautiful. I thought the clubhouse employee was very rude. He didn’t speak or explain the course. It was our first trip to the course and he explained nothing. Awesome course, not awesome people.

Excellent Course
The fairways, greens, and sand traps were in excellent shape. Pin placements were tough, but they brought an extra challenge to the course. Would definitely golf there again!

A Gem worth seeking out
I travel to New Philadelphia every year or so to visit friends in town, and I revel at the opportunity each and every time to play Oak Shadows. The layout is varied, interesting, and challenging without being brutal for the unaccomplished player. Pace of play was slow due to playing on a packed holiday, but the slick bent grass greens were fast and true as well as the traps being full of manicured sand. Both short and long holes abound, giving the player a "fun" test of one's skills. I'm not convinced the locals are as "crazy" about this course "in their backyard" as they should be - I think it's a "hoot" to play as well as quite a value.
