Excellent Course
The fairways, greens, and sand traps were in excellent shape. Pin placements were tough, but they brought an extra challenge to the course. Would definitely golf there again!
A Gem worth seeking out
I travel to New Philadelphia every year or so to visit friends in town, and I revel at the opportunity each and every time to play Oak Shadows. The layout is varied, interesting, and challenging without being brutal for the unaccomplished player. Pace of play was slow due to playing on a packed holiday, but the slick bent grass greens were fast and true as well as the traps being full of manicured sand. Both short and long holes abound, giving the player a "fun" test of one's skills. I'm not convinced the locals are as "crazy" about this course "in their backyard" as they should be - I think it's a "hoot" to play as well as quite a value.

Great course!
18 holes right under 4 hours. Much better condition than it was in the spring when I last played it. Fun and challenging course, plenty of elevation.

greens a little beat up and some of the tee boxes burnt out but still worth playing

Needs tlc
Tee boxes were horrendous not much grass mainly cracked ground and sand filled fairways were in good shape the greens were awful not all from people not repairing ball marks just not properly maintained as it has been in previous visits definitely not worth the price

Great course, but the pace is the worst!
First off I really enjoy this course. One of the harder courses around. But the pace of play is down right ridiculous. Very rude groups who dont let faster groups thru. 6 holes in 2 hours! Enforce the pace!

A must play !! Front 9 has some elevation with some easy & tough holes. Back 9 is less elevation but still a variety of holes. You will have a enjoyable day if you play the correct tees. Conditions are excellent. Friendly staff. Our annual trip to the area always includes Oak Shadows. Not walkable, clubhouse is a double wide trailer, small snack shop are the only drawbacks. Go play Oak Shadows .

Pleasant Surprise
Did not look like much pulling into parking lot with a small modular clubhouse and pot hole filled roadway, but the course was in great condition. Super nice layout, with elevation changes and water that is well off the edges of fairways. Only someone having a bad directional day would find this course hard to play. My wife and I enjoyed it very much. Played in the morning on a weekday and played behind foursomes and still finished in less than 4 hours for 18 holes. Highly recommend for the GOLF NOW APP price we payed.

Enjoyed Everything
Beautiful course with lots of variety. Pace was perfect, very comfortable play. Course is in beautiful shape. Greens are fast. Friendly staff. Nice all around course. Good price. Definitely worth checking out if you've never been here. We had a great round.

Not worth an hour drive
Not watered enough, too hard and dry for mid May. Asked for a ranger to speed up groups - NO SUCH LUCK. No. 11 has crick running totally across the fairway: a) no sign on tee b) cant see from tee c) no knowledge of it there. Thus, hit perfect drive into it Disappointing.

Worth it.
Worth the 2hr drive. Worth the $38. This place is worth it. Nomatter what it is. Beautiful scenery, changing course. Just all around. Very well worth it.
