friendly staff
Very beautiful , very friendly staff, would go again !
Glad people walked off
Took 45 mins to play two holes. About 8 people went to the clubhouse, including the twosome paired up with us. Was on pace for 5 hour + round, then ranger was summoned to break up an 8-some halfway through the front nine. At the turn, things went much better! The back nine made up for the terrible start. Put a damper on what was a course that has gone through some changes and renovations over the past ten years. Greens were excellent. Fairways cut just right. There was some tough rough as well, which makes up for some of the shorter holes. They need to make space between tee times or they'll lose future play.
Enjoyable Course
This course is very enjoyable. Challenging without being overly difficult. The course was in very good shape. Great improvements have been done on this course, especially to #11. One of my favorite courses to play!!
loved it
Haven't played since City took it over great improvement to the course will play it again.still needs a little work but fun to play
Springvale
This course is perfect for the spring time. However, rainfall is the cause for lots of puddles throughout the course. Stay in the fairway and you will do great, but venture into the rough and you will most likely find a puddle or muddy area.
Good course with lots of challenging holes
I enjoyed playing this course as it was well kept up. There were a couple of holes that were challenging with the greens playing fast.
Great Fall golf!
Course was well maintained, starters friendly, club house staff friendly. Great value for 18 with cart. Pace of play right at 4 1/2 hours.
Nice course.
Course is in very good shape and staff is super friendly. Great hot dogs too by the way.
good deal, but not great
To begin, I paid under $15 for 18 holes with a cart, that is a good deal on any course.
But the course was being aerated (front the day before and the back as I played), and the back was closed. That bothered me, since other courses post on GolfNow that aeration has recently happened, and I didn't play other courses because of that. Then to have to play the same nine twice on a course you have never played before is always a little discouraging (it would have been nice to know that going into the round, since other courses let you know).
Other than that, the course is flat and some what short but in good condition. I didn't have any bad lies in the fairway or rough. Seems like there is some drainage issues around the course. Basic yardage markers in the fairway (blue, white, and red stakes) and spray painted grass next to tee boxes for the par threes (this is just looks cheap, find a brick or a rock and use a stencil).
Like other reviews have said, good for juniors, seniors, and women, but not for advanced players.
**I only said not to recommend, because half the course was closed and just aerated. I didn't book a tee time other courses trying to avoid the same problem. The course needs to use the technology better, or else customers with be disappointed.
Decent Muni Course
A fairly easy Muni course. Excellent for beginners & high handicap players. Decently maintained. Not recommended for the better golfer. Also, a good course to play w/ a spouse or child.
Fun course to play for the senior and average golfer.
Congrats to the starter. He got us out ahead of a group of 12 that would've turned a 4 hr round into 5-5 1/2 hr round. The course had double booked the time. 1st green was long and slow but the rest were good. Some of the greens looked like a teenager with acne - poorly repaired or no repair to ball marks. This is getting to be a problem at most courses. Maintenance could be better but some of this was due to the rains of earlier in the summer. The course is close and convenient.
Course Review
Greens were well kept, fairways and sand traps were in great shape. Pace was somewhat slow though.
Springvale is Surprisingly Great Fun
Played 18 holes here through a GolfNow Hot Deal for $16. It had not rained in a few days, so the course was well kept. Greens rolled nice (although slightly slow) and the fairways were very decent. Front nine offers an easier play, with more open tee shots and less hazards. However, the back nine is quite challenging. Several elevation changes, numerous water hazards, and a 45 degree dog leg left on the 18th lead to a fun second half. While the course is not pristine, it is a fun place to play with family or friends. My Dad and I finished our round at 3:45pm on a Monday, and the starter just let us play another 9 holes for the heck of it! Then we enjoyed a beer on the porch overlooking the first tee, and watched as a league teed off. Overall, a great place to play in good weather and when you can get a deal for $20 or less.
Wet but good
Played course after a little rain and it showed. Course seemed to not drain well but it was still in good shape. Have played severally courses and each one seemed to have something that was not up to par but this course seemed to have everything in great shape. Only down side is they seem to have outings every Fri/Sat/Sun so call first! Great time and great price with the discount!
Slow
Decent course for the money we paid. Staff is pretty rude, especially the starters. VERY SLOW PLAY.They seem to cram in as many as people as possible in this place. Be prepared to spend at least 5 hours playing 18
Course likely suffering from all the rain, however, as nice as it could be for the circumstances
I played with my elderly father and it was enjoyable for both. There is no practice range rather a net which is ok to warm up, but not tournament caliber start up.
Nice layout with enough twist and turns to keep you figuring out what club to use. The fact the forward tees are really fair for seniors was a plus to play with my Dad. People are nice enough..
Course was in great shape for it being so wet. Staff was the friendliest I've seen at a course.
Great, friendly staff and a well maintained course especially considering the amount of rain th course had just acquired. I will definitely be back, especially because of the friendly staff who made sure I got what I paid for and were very agreeable.
