Pace of play
Love the course however there is no starter and groups just play whatever nine they want and backs up play. Took 3 hours to play the back nine. Waited at least 10 minutes at each tee box on the back nine.
Great Course
Love golfing here. Today brought my son and is a great place for him to continue to learn. I love playing here for the service, a good choice of nine holes and good value. Great people.
Great time for all
I play this course often because I really enjoy talking with the owners and just feel very welcomed. They have done everything they can to make it possible for us to play during the Covid-19 issues. The pace was just fine and the course is beginning to dry out to play a good round of golf. Anyone with a wide range of skill levels can play here comfortably and with plenty of challenges to make it interesting. I recommend this course to all my friends. A good comfortable course for the money.
It needs help.
Most of the course is a swamp. The tee boxes have improved from last year. The fairways are cut but still 90% weeds. The greens are in better shape but still not receptive and probably the slowest greens I've ever putted on. It's a good course to practice on because there's usually no one else playing.
Loyal Oak GC
Staff was great. Early in season so everything is wet but playable. Greens and fairways were cut.
Hidden treasure
For early May course was a little sloppy, but open to carts. I was pleasantly surprised by the green conditions and pace. Staff was diligent sanitizing carts and keeping people apart. Staggered t-times kept the pace casual. Lots of trees blooming, I'll be coming back soon. Maybe play all 27
Very accommodating staff
While this is a difficult time for our society I was provided with a clean and sanitary cart, and hand sanitizer. I realize the limitations that have been put on the course staff to ensure customer safety.
Love it Here!
I love coming to Loyal Oak. The people are incredibly nice. It feels like a family run business and I love that. The course is real diverse. Some holes are tough and others are easy, but I like the challenge. Over all, they're a great place. Good service, good course, good people, good price.
Good place to open up a golf course
I have been hearing how bad the course has become, league's leaving, so i decided to go see for myself. Well the tee box's had large.clumps of mowed grass on them, and yes your supposed to keep your ball in the fairway and you better because you wont find your ball in the hay field. And dont miss the green by a couple of feet they cant even cut the grass around the greens. Large clumps of mowed grass, looks like a hay field. Very disappointing, could be and has been a great course. I will say i thought the greens were in good shape. I feel like this could be the next course to close if things dont change.
Nice to get out
This course is not overly challenging with wide fairways and generous greens. But playing it in the dead of summer with concrete for dirt makes it play like a completely different course (links style). It was a great day to be outside with friends. The course was in decent shape considering the recent weather. Great place to play at a discounted rate. Hardly worth the normal rate.
Rockland
Course was rock hard including and especially the greens. Approach shots routinely bounced 6 or more feet into the air no matter what iron used. Greens were also extremely slow but playable. Would not go back under present conditions.
Excellent value
Have not played this course in quite some time. Course was in great shape and staff was extremely friendly. Will absolutely play here again.
Never seen a course in such bad condition
Course looked rough shape when we pulled up in the parking. Dilapidated clubhouse. Didn't accept credit cards; cash or check only.
We paid $76 for two, not bad for a Saturday, but the condition of the tee boxes, fairways, and greens were horrendous. We finished the first hole and looked around at a few other holes from there and saw the same conditions.
We went back to the clubhouse asked for a refund and thankfully, they complied.
What I don't understand is how the GolfNow.com reviews gave it 4 stars. ??? Reviews must have been doctored. We drove 10 minutes to another 4 star course @ $44 and it was nice.
Be aware.
Kid loved it
Good times!
Nice course.
We will be back! Close to home.
