Tee Boxes
Lots of trees to manage so keep it in the fairway as difficult to find if you miss. I know it is a city course so if there is one thing I would spend the money on it is leveling out the tee boxes. They are far from level and the grass is a little high. Definitely a challenging course with the longer par 3’s.
Bill from Akron
Good Park is a traditional old school golf course with tight tree lined fairways. The course was in pristine condition. Unfortunately they allow walkers which significantly slowed down the pace of play. The walkers refused to waive faster golfers through. We were stuck behind a twosome for 8 holes. The ranger did nothing to improve the pace of play. We caught the twosome at the turn and cut in front of them. We looked back after hole 15 and they were 3 holes behind. Still love the course but management needs to do a better job of maintaining a decent pace of play.
Great course
Course and course personnel fantastic ... P O P was slow on the front nine but picked up SIGNIFICANTLY on the back.
Truly one of the best courses in NE Ohio
GREAT EXPERIENCE
One of the BEST courses in NE Ohio ... love this course.
Nice course
I had not played here in many years and my expectations were low. I played as a twosome with a friend. The other golfers were courteous and allowed us to play though, so we finished in 2.5 hours. The course was wet, but the greens and fairways were in good shape. One par 4 was converted to a par 3 due to flooding. The staff was polite and efficient. A course ranger found and returned an errant tee shot by my friend. This course significantly exceeded my expectations and at $28, was an outstanding value.
Some tee boxes were in sad shape and the green had debris/pine needles and twigs all over them
Quit using GolfNow
GolfNow refused a reimbursement, because one if my group bailed out due to family matters. Furthermore, I was still listed in the 10am tee tine, even though I moved my time to later, probably because GolfNow complicated it for the guy working the pro-shop. So these GolfNow guys stole my money, and then made tee tine management More complicated and Less friendly.
Not worth it
I'm a relatively new golfer, currently in my second season. Although I've had the chance to play 269 games across various courses, including Good Park, my experience at Good Park was unfortunately subpar. Considering factors like safety, security, pace of play, and staff friendliness, I regret to say that Good Park earned a One Star rating from me.
This course has great features
Probably was a nice course before the distance inflation era. Holes are too long for the space. Lots of fun old trees to play around though. They give the course a lot of shade and are one of the best features of the course. The greens are excellent. They are of medium pace and slope and are great for improving players. The fairways are quite pitted and have a surprising amount of unfavorable lies. The fairways also start fairly far away from the tee box so you pretty much have to drive off most of them which seems like a consequence of lengthening the holes for the sake of the distance inflation era.
