Loyal Oak
Cheap course in Akron Area. Showed up for my first time staff was very friendly, came early and pace of play was no issue at all. Course was very we’ll maintained, not very wet, grass all cut looking nice. Very open course, good for beginners not wanting to find many trees, and a good course for better golfers as well with some challenging par 4’s. Very surprised by this course and with the price, the value is unmatched. 5 stars for me
Great looking course
We came about after about 3 days of rain and early in the morning so the course was extremely muddy. Only complaint I had was it seemed like the water puddles fill quite often and there were quite a few of them. Other than that it was very fun and very friendly staff
Horrible
Greens haven’t been cut in forever. No fairway, it was like playing in my backyard. Pace of play was awful, booked on GolfNow and they book off site as well. Three groups at the tee box at our team time. On the course it was more like a rock concert, people screaming and blaring music. Will never come back…
Played early and had heavy due.
Lost several balls just slightly off the fairway. Enjoyed the course and everyone was very friendly including other golfers.
A very nice unpretentious course.
In pretty good shape for a relatively inexpensive course.
Love it
Can’t beat the price for 18 holes and a cart! I have played here multiple times this summer and can easily say I will definitely be back again. It’s a nice relaxing pace and the staff is great. Course conditions are alright especially considering all the rain we have had this year.
Nice course, staff was awesome!
We’ve been playing tons of courses in the area this summer. This was one of my favorites! The layout was nice. My only con is the ladies tees don’t have much advantage - but they give you an extra hit to par (so a men’s “white tee” 4 is a women’s “red tee” 5). The biggest advantage I thought was the food. I had their Italian sausage and it was great. The prices are awesome too - we paid $17 for 6 bud lights and a sausage hot dog. (I feel like I’d expect to pay $30 on average for this at other courses). Every staff member was also very friendly!!! It is cash only - we brought cash with us after reading other reviews. But there is an ATM on site. Overall, this was a fun course to play and I enjoyed my mid morning round! 18 holes took us 4 hrs almost exactly. Can’t wait to come back in the fall - it’ll be beautiful!
Nice and wide open
There were some spots that was with little to no grass but over all the place was wonderful. I would definitely go back
Adding to our list of golf courses
Our regular foursome playsaround set courses during the summer but Golf Now advertised a course we hadnt been aware of. Thought we would give it a try and visit a different course. We enjoyed it and would go back. The staff was super friendly and the course was challenging if u got stuck in the thick grass!. In addition there were a lot of par 5s for tor women. The only real con/observation worth mentioning was that the ladies tee boxes were not kept up. But will say, we have seen that issue on other public courses. I gave course.Condition a3 stat for that reason and that the recent rains had the sandtraps flooded .Rwgardlesz, we all agreed we would come. Is it it again to play.
It's still okay.
Olds school. Cash only, they are doing you a favor,by letting you play.
Good time
Went with a first time player and we all had a good time with the wide open course. Staff friendliness was also welcoming
Very good public course - staff friendly -
Need to Marshall pace of play - 1 group playing two persons from one bag
Will play again when in area
first off they’re cash only. but no worries, there’s a ATM on location if you don’t carry cash with you.
The course doesn't look like much from the street, in fact the pub/ pro shop and maintenance building could use some repairs. That said, I was pleasantly surprised by the course. For as much rain as we’ve had this past week it was in great shape. nice layout, fairly wide open, minimal sand. For the price, it was a nice way to spend a Sunday morning. The staff were very nice and approachable as well.
definitely will be back!
