About
Although it is located in Hauppauge on Long Island's North Shore, Wind Watch Golf Club possesses the look and feel of a destination course. Sprawling across a lush, rolling landscape covered with sparkling ponds, the course is as challenging as it is scenic. Water hazards come into play on 12 holes and there are more than 75 bunkers, some of which are massive in size, strategically placed throughout. Almost every hole presents golfers with a unique risk-reward opportunity. The golf course begins and ends at its highest point, which is one of the island's highest elevations. Wind Watch's closing hole provides a memorable finish as the only dogleg on the course. This par 4 takes a sharp left before climbing uphill to the triple-tiered green that is protected by three enormous traps.

Great golf course
The challenge on this course is the number of ponds. As a New York golf course, my saying is, “ If you play on this course, you can play anywhere!”.

Wind Watch - country club fluffiness
Loved the springy nature of the fairways and despite just being aerated - the greens were punching above their weight / rolling relatively true. Course design is much improved over the old Colonie Hill days. Infinitely playable, but 25% overpriced for what you get with heavily divoted fairways more akin to pure muni tracks. Much promise but operations need a little tightening and pricing needs a little loosening. Fun experience but overpriced to warrant regular play.

Course in good shape
We played Wind Watch the end of March, the course was in great condition considering the weather we get in the northeast.. Staff was very friendly & courteous

Solid course
I liked the course - interesting par 3’s over water. Some nice elevated tees and a short par 4. Most par 4’s though were pretty straight though except for 18 which is a sharp uphill dog leg left. Challenging bunkers and a long par 3 on the back. Overall solid course but it is not cheap especially if you want to play early but I would go back.

Condistions.
Early spring golf, greens were not top dressed but some sort of aeration took place with line cuts. So the greens which alway roll fast were rolling but not rolling true making any putting worthless. When the weather gets better and the grass grows I have no doubt the greens and fairways will be just fine. The course is always like a private country club fast greens and carpeted fairways.

It’s Spring!
Ok, I’m excited to be out and playing golf after what felt like a very long winter!
I’m somewhat forgiving because the season is just officially starting, but
Had a 9am tee time and while the earlier start times were pushed back due to frost delays, (understandably), the range was not open due to the Nets not being repaired and the practice green was not open due to snow mold.
This was disappointing to me because I need to putt and hit a bucket before I play a round. It’s become a set warmup and I was thrown off not being able to do either.
The course was well maintained, tee boxes were tough, as expected, the greens were aerated, but greening up and relatively quick.
Play was slow at times 4.5 hrs on carts but it wasn’t unbearable.
Cart service was spot on!
