Good course
Always a fun experience every time I play there. A must course to play for all levels of ability.
Really worth going and playing
I really like this course. It was the 4th of July, not crowded at all. Nice layout. I will be back. Very easy to get to. Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery is down the street. Be sure to stop there also. Amazing.
Hidden Gem
Quiet. Challenging. Great course for value.
Tree lined & the greens are crowned w/ a lot of break.
Course is in good condition & plays well for straight hitters & good putters.
Tough greens
Good course, requires shot making. Tricky mounded greens especially for first time player
Bogey Golfer - Challenging course
This was a beautiful course and it was well taken care of. As a bogey golfer, I found this course to be fairly difficult. The fairways were pretty narrow and at times it was difficult to recover from my tee shot. The par 3's seemed to be easy however which helped my score immensely. The staff was pretty standoffish, and as someone who has worked at a golf course, I found this to be disappointed, but the course spoke for itself. I think I will be back to play this course sometime in the future.
An old style country club, now open to the public
This is a club reminiscent of the traditional country club; stately old clubhouse, well appointed inside as well. Course is very well maintained, tight cut fairways, extremely quick greens. No two holes are the same, 18 different experiences. Course is very remote, be sure to use mapquest to find it. Pace was slow ( 4 and 1/2 hours ), this was the only downside. We came from 90 minutes away, and will be back later this year. All greens are slightly elevated, so approaches cannot be run onto the greens. A good test for all levels of golfers
Great Track...kind of
As an 8 year old, I picked rocks out of the fairways as the course was being built. My Father was a charter member and I was a junior golfer for years. I joined the club in my 30's and was a member until 2000. This has always been a well maintained course and even now as a public track, it still is in great shape. My only complaint is with the course layout. They have reversed the nines and the front is now the back, etc. so now you are starting your round with 3 of the toughest holes on the course in the first 4 holes. A little daunting for someone who has played here for 50+ years, let alone for those who are playing for the first time. I realize that when a new owner take over a business of any kind, they want to put their stamp on it. But this was a terrible mistake. Imagine being a first timer that starts off bogie, par, double bogie, bogie. Not a great first impression. Don't get me wrong. This is a great course, and I will continue to play it. I just wish they would switch the nines back.
Oh, and one tip...Putt half the break you see.
Decent for this early
The only problem I have with this course is that they switched the front and back nine's. Three out of the first four starting holes are the toughest on the course. It can get you a little discouraged right off the bat. I've been playing this course since 1959 and I've alwkays love the track. I played alone and was able to play 18 in two hours and five minutes. The course is in pretty decent shape for this early in the year . Greens are still showing the aeration from last fall. Overall I enjoyed my around. The . Bring your putting game!!
This place reminded me of Highland Meadows course in Toledo that the LPGA play. It has a similar layout with blind shots, doglegs, forced carries, tree lined fairway, and long par 5's.
This course has a fair amount of hazards that come into play off the tee. Getting a good look on most approach shots required you to place your tee shot on the correct side of the fairway. Small elevation changes and their signature hole #15 is a beastly 225 from the tips.
The greens were tough for me to read with small breaks that I just could not figure out. Maybe local knowledge would be helpfully like all putts break to the creek.
Drove 2 hours to play this course and it was worth the drive.
Golfing in November
Nice course.Course looks like it is well taken care of. Just the time of the year. Fairways were aerated and tons of leaves but I'm happy to be playing in November. I will definitely play again.
Favorite course
Worth my drive from Akron! Great course! Course was in good shape for last couple days in October. Love how they moved the first tee back onto the hill.
Fall golf
Nice course would play again course was in good shape for fall golf
Country Club layout
Not overly long. Greens were a bit bouncy. Pace of play could have been better (5 hour round). Quite a few narrow fairways but rough was manageable. Would play again.
The facility was clean, and very comfortable.
The greens are very challenging, most of them are crowned, slick, they roll true. The tee boxes and fairways are well manicured. Overall the course is in very good condition.
Perfect day
Great low price,
Beautiful weather,
Good friend to compete and laugh with,
New course to us in great shape;
Now if I could only have played better...
This course has great greens
Beautiful scenery course is in good condition. It's a little hilly but playable. I would play it again.
Awesome Course
This is an Awesome course . The tee master worked with us to ensure our 18 hole round could go off with out any issues. There were 2 high schools playing their Tournaments. We had no issues. Well laid out course and fun to play.
