Golfer Reviews
Raintree is now city owned...just don’t be behind a first timers outing.
Overall, the course was in good shape. Much better than what I remember before the city took over. Rates we okay; comparable to some courses in the area. The biggest challenge of the day was a very SLOW outing that was ahead of our group. Nearly all were first time players. More importantly, it was stroke play. Should’ve been a shotgun start with scramble at least. Of course, we cannot control the paying patrons on the course with us. Other than that, a good time was had by all. Definitely plan on visiting again in the future.
Great conditions but slow
Course conditions were as nice as we have ever seen here. Pace of play with simply awful. Received the request from Golfnow to write this review before we had even teed off on the 14th hole!
Greens in particular were outstanding - really enjoyed the course and just had to ignore the fact we saw both 6-somes and 7-somes (!) on other holes.
Great course & staff
A friendly staff in the clubhouse & bar area. The greens & fairways are well maintained. Maintenance staff are great people working hard to improve the course. Only getting better from here.
slow play
there was a junior achievement golf outing ahead of our 12:30 tee time. front nine was a bit slow, but picked up the pace on the back nine...
Nice Sunday morning round
Raintree is a decent local course. Not too challenging but a competitive NE Ohio tract. Played on a Sunday morning and finished in a little over four hours which isn’t terrible for a weekend. You can score well even if you miss fairways. Most fairways are wide enough.
The par 3s aren’t difficult but some involve water. I’ve played this course dozen of times so knowing how to navigate the course helps. First timers could see difficulty.
Play the course. Especially during the week with better rates. You’ll enjoy it...
Horrible Management = Slow Play, AGAIN!!!!
I swore I would never play this course again because management not only tolerates slow play, it causes it. Once again they sell a tee-time to a two-some right behind a golf outing. We had no choice but to skip several holes only to wind up behind a five-some. One staff person claimed they do not permit five-somes and another immediately chimed in with a "Yes, we do.".
Clueless-ness runs rampant at Raintree.
We were told the driving range was closed, yet 7 people were hitting balls on the range.
I have been told that the city of Green took over the course and then hired outside professionals to manage it. Somebody made a really bad choice...
