Not for the faint of heart
We love the challenge of playing at Raintree, but the length of the course coupled with the heat of the day nearly did us in. I wish the forward tees were placed to result in shorter total yardage. At 75, even though I’m still a pretty good golfer, the course was too much for me. My 17 year-old grandson can hit the ball a mile, but not always straight. He found the fairways a little tight.
Love the Raintree App
Downloaded the app at the course. The GPS feature was very helpful during the round.
Difficult and noisy
The course overall was in great condition. The fairways and greens looked and played like a Sunday at the Masters. There were a lot of areas that should've been labeled as ground under repair. There was also a lot of hardpan in the rough. Add that to the fact that almost every hole was a dogleg or had water and you get a perfect storm. My 3 some all played terrible. There were a lot of blind shots and then you couldn't find your ball. We did find a lot of other people's balls though lol. The food was great at the turn. It was also a very loud course being by the airport and highway. It was extremely had to focus. I wouldn't recommend to anyone above a 10 handicap. It is very hard. Once again, it was a nice course but not worth the money we spent.
Slow play. Course is in good shape.
The course is in good condition for the weather we’ve had, I’ve always liked the layout and the staff is accommodating.
One thing that really irritates me is slow pace of play. Ever since the city of Green purchased Raintree the pace of play has deteriorated, and no rangers to keep things moving, this used to be one of my favorite courses to play and it’s conveniently located, right around the corner from my house.
I went over to play and as a single player walking the last thing I’d expect is to get held up by a Threesome riding
The starter pushed me off the back and I caught a threesome on my third hole and was waiting every shot since then.
Never finished my round, ended up walking off after my eighth hole.
Come on public tracks, why not make folks pick up the pace a bit.
Early spring conditions
Rough needs cut down a bit, it's really thick & full of dandelions which makes finding a ball out in the open a huge challenge. The greens are great and really fast .. However , if they don't do some work on the rough it will most definitely slow the pace of play moving forward.... ( Just my opinion) Very good news superintendent) General manager is a smug liberal jack@$$.
