Bunkers redone correctly and one of the best lay outs in the tri state is well on its way to a premier course again as it was in the 70's.

With the longer rainy season than usual and with all the improvements they’ve implemented over the recent past on the course itself (great new bunkers and sand), this course is currently in great shape and is a great value.

The cart paths still need significant maintenance, and the old clubhouse is no longer available, so a mobile home is still their temporary check-in location along with a beverage cart, but if you want a no frills golf round, this is a great value.

The owners appear to have invested a significant amount of capital to return this course to a viable and challenging public option once again, and the Staff appears to be working very hard to make it work for the long term too.

Today, my friend and I played as a two some. We just about waited every hole. There were two ahead of us n they were also waiting on three some ahead . Then there was one person on our tail. Behind him was another solo. I don’t understand why they couldn’t pair people up properly. Today was hot n humid. There is no air conditioned place where we could go in for a restroom after half nine. I’ll not go into those porter potty type restroom they offer especially on a hot day like today. There was no drink cart out. I see that maintenance people are working hard to improve the course, but they have a long way to go even to be a mediocre course over all rating. Pls don’t get me wrong. The courses is tough n great challenge. The greens are usually kept nicely but today it was a little slow I’d recommend to intermediate players. The holes are superb but there are way many road crossings including 4 lane roads. I’m taking my time to write review in a hope that they can improve from little things. I see a very good potential for this course but today it just wasn’t worth the money I’d paid to play. My friend said that he wasn’t ever going to go back to play but I’ll if I find great deals on line. We were exhausted from that vicious circle of waiting to being rushed n waiting again. I do appreciate as a golfer that they trying very hard to maintain a golf course but not quite there yet.

Really can get behind turning this abounded course around, but more needs to be done before charging their current rate.

Nice course. Lots of elevation changes. Fun to play. No clubhouse and no beverage cart out on the course.

Played 18 holes this afternoon. The course is in great condition-- greens smooth, true, receptive and consistent from hole to hole; fairways with good turf, no problem playing the ball as it lies; tees in good shape; turf good in areas around greens for chipping; tree branches, twigs and leaves all cleaned up in the grassed rough areas; bunkers all have new, proper golf course sand. The only things that are the same as 18 months ago are the challenging course layout and the deteriorated asphalt cart paths. The grass rough is a little thin and needs to be reseeded this fall but is nowhere near bare and is entirely playable. Based on my recollection of playing the course when it was a private club in the early '90s, fixing the cart paths and overseeding the rough will pretty much return the course to its heyday. True, there is no clubhouse but there are golf balls, gloves, tees, etc. available and plenty of snacks, beer, sodas to buy. So if you want a challenging round of golf on a well conditioned course, give it a try. If you want golf equipment, go to Golf Galaxy, and for food and drink, any of the local restaurants.

Remarkable improvement since being acquired by new management. New drainage & irrigation, bunkers are in fantastic shape, fairways and areas around the greens have been reseeded and looking how they should.

There’s plenty of challenge here. Green roll fast and true.

The biggest negative is that there’s no one out there selling drinks and snacks. They only have a girl sitting at the first tee. She told us she’s not aloud to leave that spot.

Enjoyed playing this course. Pace was great. Condition was good. Course is long and challenging.

I played this course two years ago and all but wrote it off - it had been poorly maintained and was not worth the effort, My how times have changed! One year closed and a lot of effort into course upkeep and it is again a worthy track! The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all in great condition, and the traps have all been reworked and are properly groomed.

At $27 it is one of the best values in the city, but that won't last long. There clubhouse is relegated to a house trailer, as the clubhouse building is condemned and they need to raze and re-build. That will take time and money, but for now the golf itself is great,.
