Beckett Ridge Golf Club

Staff was not approachable. Went to pick my cart up from the “mobile” club house and two staff members were sitting in the golf carts. While walking up, I was totally confused on where to go. No one offered to help until I asked if this is where I was to check in. Course is complete crap. First appearance driving in I noticed a bunker completely overgrown with weeds and grass. I thought maybe they were trying to fill it to get rid of it.... no, all bunkers were like that with the exception of the 10th hole. If you miss the fairway, kiss your ball goodbye, it’s all dirt and the ball does not stop. While playing, they sprayed the greens with blue fertilizer, turning your ball, clubs and shoes blue. Went to return my cart and staff asked me ( in a “Get out of my face” tone) how it was. Had a lot to say but, they clearly don’t care. This place needs to be shut down, or lower the price to $5 for 18 holes.

Terrible course in terrible condition. The clubhouse is condemned and they operate out of a camper. The fairways, tee boxes and bunkers were full of dirt and weeds. They sprayed blue liquid fertilizer all over the course which also turned my white golf shoes blue. It is very clear that they are doing the bare minimum to keep the course open for business. Overall not a good experience and would not recommend this course to anyone.

I had played Beckett Ridge a few times but it had been more than two years since the last time. I have always found it to be a nice course and a good value. What I didn't realize is that the clubhouse was condemned! SO that was pretty weird when we drove up and saw the "pro shop" was a trailer with a canopy. That said, the new staff was very friendly and it sounds like a new owner is putting money back into the facility. As far as the golf goes, the greens were immaculate! The tee boxes and fairways were fine and the only bit of course work that still needs attention are the bunkers (no sand, just weeds and grass). I'm rooting for Beckett Ridge to make a full fledged comeback!

This is the worst golf course, condition wise, I have played in the Tri state. It has been completely let go. The rough is either high or dead and full of weeds and clover. The bunkers are overgrown with grass and unplayable. The greens are in bad shape, cut too high and dead in places. The cart paths are the worst I’ve seen anywhere. It’s way over priced at $33. This used to be a private club back in the day. It would opt not to play rather than play here for free if given the option.

I understand this course has recently changed ownership, but the fact they are still trying to charge $40 for 18 is a complete joke. Nobody in their right mind would replay for that rate. We’ll see if it can make a comeback in the next few years, but a lot of money will have to be put into it before they think people will play consistently.

Course has a lot of potential but the owner puts no money or labor in it. Crap grass around the greens and rough. Would not recommend it to anyone.

I used to play this course all the time and it was in great condition. Played there Saturday for the first time this year and the new ownership has run this course into the ground. There was a water leak in the clubhouse and they failed to fix it so Butler County made them close and board it up. The solution for them is a camper in the front of the clubhouse that acts as a “pro shop”. We had a 7:45 tee time, arrived at the course and there were already 10 people there standing outside of the “mobile pro shop” and no employees at the course. We called the number on the front of the camper and woke up whoever it was on the other end and in his half awake voice told us he would be there in 5 minutes. While waiting all of the golfers waiting realized they booked all of our tee times within minutes if not the exact time of one another so we were all basically scheduled to tee off at the same time. Ten minutes later two guys roll up in a pick up truck and open the camper to start handing out cart keys. The course was in horrible condition and not worth the $40 we paid GolfNow to play it. the greens were long and bumpy, fairways were patchy, and they filled in the majority of the bunkers with dirt and failed to try to reseed. i doubt this course will be around much longer but do not waste your money or time on this golf course.

I recently moved back to West Chester for the first time since 2008. I use to play Beckett on a semi regular basis (4-5 times a year). I actually just purchased a home in Beckett Ridge and was really excited to get back out on the course and support my neighborhood golf club. I must say, I was really a bit disappointed. I understand this course has had it's ups and downs and has changed ownership somewhat recently, but it wasn't what it use to be, which is unfortunate because the course has so much potential. The fairways were in OK shape, but the second you stepped outside of them it was in bad shape. Even some of the fairways had little grass and were mostly dirt. I know the lack of rain hasn't helped, but I expected better. It seems as though the bunkers (those that are left) are in awful shape. Most were filled with water, hadn't been raked in who knows how long, and were mostly unplayable. The greens were the bright spot. Most were in good shape and saved the round from being awful. It looks like the pro-shop might be under construction or being renovated? The check in and "pro-shop" is a trailer out front of the clubhouse (which looks like its going to fall over soon). The parking lot is in desperate need of pavement.

I'm hopeful things can turn around as I really do think this course has so much to offer, especially with just buying a house in the neighborhood. It has a great layout and is challenging enough to make you think and shake your head every know and then, but forgiving enough to make you want to come back. My hope is the new ownership team can put a little bit of time and money into this place and turn it back into a destination course in Cincinnati. Fingers crossed!

Great layout overall but the course is in poor condition.

This golf course used to be one f the top golf courses around. Thankfully new owner will without any doubt be returning this course to the quality it is known for. Course layout great. Great for all levels of skill. Look forward to playing again.

This course has seen much better times. Every time I decide to give it another chance, the conditions seem to get worse and worse. The layout needs work. Little to no maintenance for fairways tees and bunkers. The greens are actually better than you might think. They took away the back tees when I was there and with probably good reason as they let them get overgrown. A fair price for this course would be 20 maybe. Wouldn’t waste your money unless you get an especially good hot deal.

This mayst have been a great course in. It’s prime but those days have passed. The tee box has not been cut in a while, fairways average but the greens putt well. Pace of play was 5 1/2 hours so it just killed the round completely so there was very little enjoyment to be had. I think if the pace of play was better I would have been less critical of the condition of the course but I still don’t think it is great value for money at all. But I think that this course has potential and could bounce back if it had better funding.

The course has gone way down in quality. Only a few staff left to manage the course and for a weekend the greens weren't cut and time of crab grass everywhere. Carts are supposedly brand new but already having troubles.

Because they can't afford to keep putting money into the course, they've filled in many of the fairway bunkers with grass sand the bunkers that are left aren't filled with sand.

This course is barely a $20 course (good tough layout) but they are charging $51.

They are putting the money into a clubhouse upgrade (instead of the course) so be prepared to use a portapotty. And don't ask for golf balls. A $25 steal they said for Bridgestone golf balls was actually precept (which Bridgestone makes but not the same thing).

So disappointed in this course from what it once was.

Recently coming under new management, they are understaffed and it shows on the course. Bunkers haven’t been tended to in what appears to be weeks and have little to no sand, just hard packed dirt. The greens were okay, but definitely not worth the drive or the rates they’re charging, even with a deal. The course has lots of potential, but needs far more attention (staffing) than it’s receiving.

The tee boxes were overgrown with crabgrass. Some tee boxes were soggy from malfunctioning sprinklers. The markers in the tee boxes were not reset after bad mowing job. The greens needed immediate attention. The fairways were absolutely terrible.
