Beckett Ridge Golf Club
About
Beckett Ridge Golf Club was designed by Jack Kidwell, a well known name in Ohio golf. The course has a classic design that is inlaid with meandering streams that weave through stands of mature trees. The rolling landscape was deftly incorporated into the golf course. The layout offers a variety of holes ranging from long to short, tight to open. It is definitely a course that requires some strategy. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. It measures 541 yards, but this downhill hole plays much shorter. There are out-of-bounds on either side and the tricky fairway slopes right to left but with some strategy and a little skill it is possible to make it home in two. Beckett Ridge is one of Southwest Ohio's best golf courses.

10th Hole at Beckett Ridge Photo submitted by Wahwah87 on 04/10/2013
Below par
Cart paths are terrible. Clubhouse is pitiful. No indoor rest rooms.
Excellent layout good for all levels . Course in excellent condition . Clubhouse under remodel .
Greens were very nice
The layout of Beckett Ridge is wonderful! The pro shop and clubhouse are under renovation, but they have kept the course in great shape. The greens are fast and challenging, but very fun to play. It’s a great course layout with lots of interesting holes. The cost is quite good for what you get! I have played it a number of times and would highly recommend it.
good layout
The course was in good shape.greens were fast . The only thing was I knew they were working on the clubhouse was port o lets don"t work well with women.
Slow!!
I was not overly impressed; couple of holes were just goofy or even dangerous!! Blind shots of tee are not good, we were hit into a couple of times.
Worst thing though was pace of play!! It took 5 hours!!! Did not see a marshal anywhere.
Going down Hill
I have played Beckett for the last few years and this year has definitely been the worse condition the course has seen in years it is sad for how nice the course use to be even after it went public I just don't see how this course will be open for much longer it really is sad it has a great layout but just on the decline really quick..just not worth the price for a 5.5hr round
Not bad
Tee boxes and paths need some help.
Workers a bit inconsiderate; near the tee...
Needs some TLC
Tee boxes and the majority not fairways are really in awful shape. Greens were good. Lots of bunkers now grassy areas. At this moment , I would not recommend this course m it's just not worth it right now
Beckett For The Win
Good overall course and good bang for your buck. Improving bunkers is a plus and good course layout. Highly recommended
great layout - poor condition
- very good layout but poor condition.
- no driving range
- They are taking out traps (good golfers expect penalties for poor hits) - ruin the challenge.
- Greens have disease.
- Clubhouse has no air conditioning
- Dead trees line the main entry
- Trailer sits next to clubhouse for > than 1 year
- cart paths falling apart
Value
The course is undergoing some needed improvemnts.
However, they did not interfere with the pace of play.
Fairways and greens are in nice shape as are the T boxes.
Pleasant except for the rain that came in. A satisfactoryu raincheck was issued.
Great layout but it has not been well maintained since going public. Bunkers were dirt filled. Greens not mowed fresh and had many unrepaired ballmarks, etc. No drivng range to warm up before the round. The greens fees reflected this but still I had higher expectations. Don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.
Rip off
Where to start... the clubhouse. For a course that charges upwards of $45 on the weekend this was a joke. They said their clubhouse was closed because of water damage... I saw no attempt at repairs or construction. The only bathroom facilities they had at what was left of their clubhouse was 1, UNO, singular port o pot. On a Saturday before a Father’s Day scramble, what a joke.
The course wasn’t in bad shape, but you could tell it was going downhill... no sand on the tee boxes, weeds and clover galore.
I’ve never paid that much for a round, and gotten so little. If I wanted to play that kind of course I would have gone to a municipal course.
They have serious issues, for a Country Club turned Golf Club it’s a place where I’ll not spend another dollar until it’s under new management/ownership.
They should be charging half of what they are right now for it to even be considered fair.
great layout - poor condition
Great layout - poor condition.
Traps are terrible -- hard with rocks.
New cups have not been cut for some time (hairy and beat down).
Clubhouse is not open (water damage).
Entrance begs for some attention (dead trees line the entry) - what ever happened to first impressions?
A trailer has been sitting in plain view of clubhouse for months.
Fairways & Greens in great shape. Sand traps need work.
Great Course
This course is in great shape and is definitely worth it. It wasn’t my first time playing here and I’ve always thought it’s been a good course, but since the new owners have had it for about two years now their improvements can be seen on the course. The fairways and greens were very well manicured. I would recommend this course to anyone.
2 Words: Capital Improvement
This course has been on a long slide downward since it converted from private to public about 15 years ago. There have been numerous ownership changes. All of these owners have 1 thing in common, they have neglected the course and the clubhouse. The course itself is a decent layout, with the exception of the 13th hole, which is quite possibly the stupidest hole on any golf course. The greens are the defense for the course and are usually in good shape and can, at times, run very fast.
That was the good. Here is the bad. And most of it is really bad. The cart paths should have been resurfaced over 10 years ago. They’re in terrible shape now. There are weeds on the tee boxes, rough and fairways. There are hundreds of dead ash trees on the course. Picture anywhere from 10 to 30 dead trees on every hole. The carts are vintage 1980’s. The clientele playing the course has sunk with the course condition and price. No running water in the clubhouse. Yes, that’s true. It’s okay though, they have porta-potties on the side of the building.
Beckett Ridge suffers from lack of capital improvement. It’s only a matter of time before the place closes. The lack of running water is clue #1. In the meantime, don’t be seduced by a low price. Even at $35 on a Sunday, it’s a poor value relative to what you’re getting in return.
Great Golf Course with big future plans
Have enjoyed this facility for many years. The owner has big plans for the course and cares deeply about the condition as well as the guests that play there. The greens are in great condition and the fairways are very well kept. Can’t wait for the future of Beckett Ridge.
