Beckett Ridge Golf Club
About
Beckett Ridge Golf Club was designed by Jack Kidwell, a well known name in Ohio golf. The course has a classic design that is inlaid with meandering streams that weave through stands of mature trees. The rolling landscape was deftly incorporated into the golf course. The layout offers a variety of holes ranging from long to short, tight to open. It is definitely a course that requires some strategy. One of the most memorable holes is the par-5 fifth. It measures 541 yards, but this downhill hole plays much shorter. There are out-of-bounds on either side and the tricky fairway slopes right to left but with some strategy and a little skill it is possible to make it home in two. Beckett Ridge is one of Southwest Ohio's best golf courses.

10th Hole at Beckett Ridge Photo submitted by Wahwah87 on 04/10/2013
It has challenging holes
The course was in very good shape. One issue I have had at Beckett is their cart paths are in terrible shape. With the money they charge, you would think it could be taken care of.
Beckett Ridge Golf Course
There were 2 outings going on and pace of play was horrible. Quit after 4 hrs and only completed 12 holes (would have taken 6 hours to play 18 holes). Staff did not feel it was their responsibility to tell us how bad the pace of place was.
Good track for the money
Bought a hot deal on Golf Now so got on cheap. Rough was a little over grown, but fairways and greens were in good shape.
Challenging off the tee and fast greens, a great test.
Enjoy this couse a lot. Fast greens and challenging off the tee, a great test.
Great Value!
Paid $20 on golfnow.com. What a deal for a very good and challenging course. Not for beginners, though.
Was there a winter at this course?
One would expect the course to have suffered during the winter. However, the greens rolled well. The fairways did not plug. And zipped through the round.
My complaint...and this is for any course at that this time of the year (spring)...was the long grass rough. We lost a couple of balls there. Had the course been crowded, we would have lost more because we wouldn't have the time to search.
The traps need work. As long as you lift, rake, and replace, you are fine.
There were no branches or leaves on the course. This was appreciated.
The bar closed just before we finished our round at 6pm. Since they didn't have Summer Shandy, we weren't upset....
It is a long and challenging course.
I look forward to playing Beckett Ridge again. It was the first time I played 18 holes there. Normally I shoot in the high 80's. But there I scored 95. Therefore, it is my goal to break 90 at Beckett Ridge.
The course was well maintained and the staff was friendly. I'm on the Board of Cincinnati Recreation Commisssion and play twice a week. Customer service and quality courses are a must for me. PLUS, Golf Now gave us a great deal. I will check with Golf Now every week.
Great Couse and great price for the course!
We really enjoyed playing at Beckett Ridge Golf Club. It was our first time playing there and the course was in really good shape. We got a great deal on Golf Now and would love to go back and play this course again!
Course has Country club feel with public course price
Great track for better golfers, can be tight in some areas with some blind spots. It is challenging, but fun, great greens
Not what I was expecting
I played in a very strong wind, and parts of the course are on top the Ridge with no protection, which makes it tough. I would say 8 holes were dead into the wind. The best part of the course was the greens and fairways are in great condition. The greens are fast and roll true. The fairways are tight and give a good lie.
The rest of the experience was disappointing. The tee boxes had broken tees all over them, like they had not been picked up for weeks. The clubhouse is old and run-down; torn, worn-out carpet, peeling wallpaper, etc. It was early April and the snack bar was not open. The course layout is a bit odd as well. You have to cross a 4-lane road about 3 times during the round. The back nine had 3 par 3s, 3 par 4s, and 3 par 5s. There are a lot of blind tee shots and several blind second shots. If you don't know where to hit the ball, you could be in trouble. Many of the fairways are very tight, if you are not in the fairway, you are OB in someone's yard.
I'm sure at one time when the course was private and the clubhouse was new, this was a nice place. But now, it leaves a lot to be desired.
Good challeng for any game. White or blue tees. Greens in good shape, little fast, hard to hold, but early in the year.
The course itself is fine, enjoy playing with the farious challenges (sand, water, greens). The cart paths and club house needs updating, but when they do that, the price will increase. Right now, it is a very good value for the price. I am a senior and played from white tees and that was fine for my game.
Fun course to play but lots of hills.
It was cart path only so that lead to the 5 hour round. Never had to wait to hit, just had to walk to balls. Tee boxes we fine, fairways were in decent shape for this time of year but greens were extremely bumpy. Need to be rolled, but again for this time of year and the weather it was well worth the price.
course was in very good shape, for Feb.
very nice experience, course was in good shape.
it is Feb. in the midwest. A little chilly and soggy sourse but that happens when you play in the winter...
very nice shape
The course was in good shape for February
With the temperature in the 50's and sunshine, I couldn't resist getting out to play with a friend before our trip to Hilton Head in March. The curse was in good shape for February in Ohio and the fee was perfect.
Great conditions for January especially. Challenging track!
On a sunny day in January any course is good enough to play. We hit the jackpot at Beckett. Sunshine, blue skies and a well maintained, challenging course. Greens roll true, fairways are nice to hit from. Can't wait to play it with the trees in full leaf, and in the fall it should be a beauty.
Beckett was in great shape for December, greens rolling very well
Beckett was in great shape for December, they must have mowed the greens recently as they were rolling very well with good speed. Fairways and tees were also in very good shape
This course is great.
I play out here several times a week and it continues to stay in the best shape possible. Considering that we're in November, the greens are great, and the fairways are even better. I've never had a bad experience here, and the staff has always been accommodating of my needs. I will definitely be playing here again and again.
Very challenging, not for the beginner.
Lots of elevation changes, tight fairways, and the rough is very penalizing. Other than that this course is outstanding!
An amazing value. Keep up the good work.
My friend and I are both in our 70's. White tees are our choice. He has trouble with the length. Very fair however. Have always enjoyed this course and its challenge. Good greens, mostly generous fairways. Fun place.
Lack of attention
I worked at this course for 12 yrs. when it was owned by Club Corp. of America and private and we kept it immaculate. I also worked for "Fore Golf LLC" for 2 yrs. Since it's went public it's slowly gone down hill. It looked as though the grounds staff had been laid off. No sign of rough cut anywhere. Club house is in shambles. "Fore Golf LLC." has run it into the ground with their continuous lack of caring.
It's a shame too because at one time it was as nice as any in the Greater Cincinnati area.
I recommend it only if you can get a deal. I wouldn't pay full price to play this course.
It's not the course's responsibility to tell players if there is an outing. Especially if the player booked the tee time before the outing. Do you expect the course to contact every golfer on their tee sheet? Please be realistic.
