Great outing
Nice relaxed course in the middle of a neighborhood.
Fairways and Greens
The fairways and greens were playable and very forgiving, good shots were rewarded and bad shots were penalized
Battle Creek
It is obvious that there is a to of golf rounds played here and the greens showed it...now if everyone would only repair their divots it would recover faster. Long course, well maintained. Great gps system in the carts.
Can be difficult
It was harder for a high handicap player like me. There are some very punishing holes. The fairways are somewhat narrow and if you have a slice YOU WILL lose balls in backyards and neighborhoods on the course. Other than that, the course is really well maintained and very nice.
Above average public course
This course is easier if you don't try to over power it. There are some sucker holes out there. Most of the time you only really need a moderate tee shot placed at about 225 or so. If you can do that and stay near or in the fairway, you will be rewarded with pretty receptive approach shots. Greens were in great shape. They putted a bit slow but we had just had some pretty heavy rain, so I believe they were not being mowed down yet.
The gallery
The course is good, lots of birdie tries. Greens were true and fast, hard to hold sometimes. The clubhouse atmosphere is festive and friendly. The bar area had a pool table, shuffle board, darts, tv's and a lounge area if you needed a nap...bygawd. Affordable membership also.
What makes this course different for me is the gallery of homeowners that cheered our shots. if felt great.
Nice course. Greens horrible
Hadn't played here in a few years. Wish I had taken the $55 I paid and played elsewhere. Greens were sandy and super bumpy and slow.
